Survive! Sheaths and standard attachments that fit them

Thanks bud they're really worth checking out. It almost fits the 3.5 sheath perfectly so I bet it'll work well on every sheath. I'm just glad Chiral shared it with us because there's no way I would've ever found it.

Messing around with a new pouch I picked up

We still need details on this guy!!!! or did i miss that?

I decided to up my pouch game and give something a try. I ordered a Kifaru GPS pouch with malice style attachment back. I need to get it affixed somehow (shockcord maybe?) Once I figure that out and what all I end up fitting in it I will report back. For now I can say it does really well on the 5 sheath, would be a bit absurd on the 4.1 sheath though.

Dang, nephew, you're on a roll!

Looking forward to an update.

I'm definitely not the guy to ask, but could you make a paracord X through the sheath slots or grommets and through the loops on the pouch? I've considered this for another little pouch.

What about a pouch for the Ambush Alpha? I have one of these on my Alpha's sheath and it's pretty darn nice. Not all that expensive either. They come in sand and OD green as well.

I'll have to find a small scale but I'm betting its pushing the 3 pound mark already. I'm not sure but I think the 5.1 and 6 almost weigh 14 ounces with the sheath. This pack by itself feels substantially heavier but it's a good backup plan if I want to leave the camp for a bit. I'm half tempted to make a kydex clip to mount on the front so it can be removed without all the hassle of having to re tie it.

I've got several projects to get to first, but this thread has inspired me to make some custom attachments for these sheaths for pouches as soon as I get a chance. I intend to switch my belt attachments and such over to a leather/Kydex combo, so I may go that route here. Either way, I've got a few ideas for making the pouch quickly attach/detach to/from the sheath.

BOOM!!! That sounds awesome Kiah!

Wow that Kifaru is perfect for it! I think you stumbled onto the go to pouch for the mid size knives.

That kifaru looks like a good fit for a DMT diafold

Its outline mirrors the 5.0 sheath almost exactly. Not 100% sure how big the DMT Diafold is. I wish i could more easily use it with my 4.1 but its ease of removal could allow for various carry options down the rd.

Got any pics? I'd love to see.

I do indeed. This is my Ambush Alpha G2 with orange accents on a carbon fibre Kydex sheath...

My kit on this particular rig is a DMT Diafold sharpener - fine and extra fine - along with a Self Reliance Outfitters ferro rod. Despite the low cost this ferro rod is awesome! The pouch has room for additional stuff too, so I can fit more essentials in there. Next time I hit the woods the ferro rod will be moving to the loop. Because of that I'll be able to fit other items in the pouch (this is version 1.0 of this setup :)).
