Survive! Sheaths and standard attachments that fit them

We all know I'm a shameless SURVIVE! fanboy, but man, the blade and especially the handle really have it going on in that camp knife. Probably like the handle of the GSO 10, I think a handle the length of the camp knife truly makes a good blade way more versatile. I think knives like a GSO 5 or ESEE6 could be pressed into several grips, but a handle with good ergonomics over 5 inches long really does it for me. Also the blade height of the camp knife is sweet.

It does look like it's one heck of a chopper! I'm still dead set on the GSO 8 for that kind of work though. This is exactly why I wish I was rich!

Messing around with a new pouch I picked up

Cool, what is it and how'd you attach the pouch?

Edit: Tell us what you got inside too. I'm interested.

Hale Storms burlap micarta handle made me orderd two sets of drunken coffee and coffee burlap micarta handles from Shadetree.

First re handle job but I'm looking forward to it.

I think it's cool to hear guys like you spicing up your GSO's. I love that craftsmen like Shadetree, Halestorm and Chiral have quality stuff available for us!

The great thing about SURVIVE! is you don't need to upgrade anything right out of the box. For some brands it is common place to upgrade the handles or sheath immediately, but Guy has already picked top notch options for us

Yep. Blame me. That will make some REALLY nice scales. And YES, you must post pics since it's all my fault. :D

I'm really contemplating a pair for my new 3.5 and eventually my 4.5

Just do it!!! And I think Shadetree sent me an email that if you buy two sets, the shipping is FREE. Now you almost have to do it.

Thanks Hale storm! The ferro rod holders are awesome. I'll post some pics later to show them off.

No, THANK YOU for sending me the sheaths to get the tracings and measurements. I appreciate you going to all that trouble.

Oh and just get to get everyone riled up, here's the pimp job I did on my GSO10. I took some brown G10 and Tan G10 and laminated them together. But when I did that I put a little photo luminescent glow powder in the epoxy that went between the two pieces. The result was a very thin line of "glow in the dark" where the two pieces were joined.

Big pimpin'! That is so cool.

Are there old spec sheaths you don't have measurements for?

I don't have any of the old original model sheaths. Since I build my own kydex (and often add new custom scales), I never order the stock kydex. I currently have templates for the necker, necker 2, 3.5, and 5.1. Those are the sheaths that Texas_toothpick sent me. I don't have 4.1, 5, 6, 7/7, or 10.

I sent the necker, necker II4.1 and 5.1 bud. I'm ISO a 3.5 for a new edc. Sorry if I confused you on that. (I also have one in starter headed my way soon.)
