SURVIVOR - Progress Thread

I ground out another 4 at the end of the day yesterday...just need to do a couple final touches and then the next 15 are Ready To Go!!!

So we have votes for normal belt loops and votes for long danglers.
Some kind of Retention Item at the bottom.
Good deal.

Do you guys like the idea of Eyelets along the sides of the sheath?

Spen rattled off one idea.
Forgive these pics they were taken late and I forgot to shrink them before I uploaded them. I can do that later...
This is a rough draft mind you!

The Dangler has two snaps for attaching it to a belt or a pack.
The retainer strap has a sam brown stud going through the "Ring" for extra retention. The whole strap swivels to stay out of the way too.

He will work on some more prototype sheaths...

All excellent additions! I like the pin lock, and I really like that you went with moving the strap out of the way. I may actually have to go with this one now instead of kydex. :foot: ;)

The cool thing about JRE, guys...is that they can do just about any variation you want once the basic concept is nailed down.

I do like this one...but would probably opt for a fixed loop.

I'm concerned about the weight of the handle making it lean out....how's the balance with the knife in the sheath?

Great retention strap solution.

How thick with the loop leather be? hard to tell from the pics. Would be nice if the loop was over-engineered. ;)

What $ do yo uthink we are looking at here with says the fixed loop?

I like number 5, but about an extra inch lower in rise, and no to the eyelets.

I like the pin lock. I think the dangler would work better, (ie move with you better) if the ring were larger.

Some guys want a lower tie down or strap slot.

Cool! My records show I still owe you $70. I'll shoot you the balance as soon as they are ready to ship.

So, if we want a JRE sheath, will we be ordering them directly from JRE?

Thanks Dan!

Andy

Yes.

Survivor Sheaths will be handled directly through the makers themselves.

Thanks!

Dan
