That's a tough one. I really like the newer Gen 5.1 and the 4.1, but I also really like the Bark River Bravo 1's. The one I've carried the most lately on hikes, camping, and backpacking trips is my 4.1.

Ni1s,

Its balance point is just behind the first bolt. Basically between the tip of my index finger and the bolt in this pic... to me it doesnt feel handle heavy. It is VERY comfortable. I havent put it to any real work yet, just some light kitchen duty, because I have only had it for a few days. I am already considering the small version

Thanks Riz! The largest I've got to conpare with is their Camp MUK, which I believe has both a wider handle and blade (than the small at least). I'll pick up a small northern and try it out then. :)
 
Please post pics when you do. I would like to see it in hand and maybe compared to a 3.5 or something else that I know
 
I really like my fallkniven nl4 and my trc k1s also I just got a lionsteel m4 which is my first knife w m390 ;)
 
I used the Northern Hunter in the kitchen today to slice up an onion really fine. It works great because the constant curve in the edge always keeps the edge at am angle to the forward / backward slicing motion. Then to mince the slices I rocked the blade around the cutting board. This occurred with ease because of the curved edge and offset handle.
 
Supertac, is that a RatManDeux? How do you like it compared to the standard RMD? That is a nice collection man. I like those Gunnies, too :thumbup:

Grogimus, looking good bud!! Is that a battle mistress or a steel heart peeking out there?
 
That would probably be a Swatmandu that has custom handles

Thanks Hard Knocks, it's a RatManDeux and I actually like the RMD better because of the way it feels in hand. The Barkies are actually Bravo 1's but they look small because they're surrounded by bigger blades :) The Bravo 1's are on my list of some of my favorite knives in hand because of the ergonomics of the handles. The Camo one in S35vn is actually my 7 year olds and the Green micarta Bravo 1 LT is my 9 year olds. I offered them Survive! GSO 3.5's, but they seem to like the Bravo's for now. :)

Wow the Bravo 1's do look small there. I get along with the handle on them pretty good, too. Although the Liten Bror fits me a little better. The boys will be back around for those 3.5s I'll bet :)
