Wow, what is the Fiddleback above the Survive? They are what i really lust over but the prices are way out of control for the steel you get. I saw them at the Blade show a few years ago. Magnificent, true works of art.

01 is some good stuff, just sayin

^That is a sweet picture, and a sweet knife. Can't wait to get mine back.

Just got another AA Forge Knife in, a Sloydsman, I think it should be a woodworking beauty with that point. It's not a scandi from what I see, just a low saber grind with a convex edge. Very comfortable. ETA- Listed as a scandivex by the maker. My bad.

With another AA Forge, a Bush Seax, and a Grey Wolf Knives Wolflore from his brother. I think they're brothers anyways.

It is an LT Wright Northern Hunter. 1/8" stock AEB-L stainless with bocote scales. I have used it in the kitchen a bit and its a slicing machine. Its pretty easy to sharpen and takes a super keen edge from stropping. I wish it was made of 3V. But then again, I wish every knife I own was 3V. I plan on it being my big game knife. I orderd it from Dale at the knifeconnection.net. (Mods if he isnt a sponsored seller feel free to delete).

Its ultra comfortable in hand Dale has another batch coming and I had him preorder me one with natural micarta handles with thick black micarta liners. Should look pretty sweet. I dont know why I always feel the need to have two of anything and everything I like. Its and expensive habit.

TKC is a sponsor if I recall correctly. Dale is a super nice guy. I don't have a knife in AEB-L but I hear good stuff about it. Gray Wolf Knives and another maker whose name is escaping me at the moment regularly post knives with that steel in the custom area. On my "to try" list for sure.

I've got one of Nathan Carothers 'potato' knives which is in AEB-L at 61-62 Rc. It holds up great in the kitchen. I picked up one of LT's large northern hunters, but have just had too many blades in front of its rotation to get it in the field. I'm thinking I might let it go as it's getting late in the season now. I'd like to hear your thoughts on how it handles in the field Riz! if you get the chance.

I really really wish the Duke came in 3V

100% agree. I love my Fiddleback Camp Knife in 3V, and think that they should have built the Duke with the same steel. The S35VN they used to build the Duke is good steel. I have not been able to damage it, and I use it hard. However, think 3V is a better choice for a knife that size.

HK. When didnyou get the Northern Hunter? What handle did you get and is it the full flat or the high saber grind? I know you have a bunch of blades to get to but give that thing a run in the kitchen. I think you will be surprised. As soon as I kill something I will use it. For now its my kitchen knife.

Mine's full flat ground with a green micarta handle. I got it a couple months back. We butchered a little whitetail buck my mother killed this afternoon, I should have grabbed it for slicing steaks, doh! Seems like a great design.

Just get a GSO5.1 or GSO6 in 3V. They are very similar knives [emoji4]

My Duke is in A2. It is extremely easy to maintain. A few passes on the strop will make it razor sharp. I need a bit more time on the 3V.
