Survivors: other knives you like

Gotcha  I grabbed a backup or two as well. Hated to see Nathan discontinue this one.

Same. I just wish that it had a 90* spine. I'm glad I grabbed an extra. I had 2, sold one to fund a couple Dark Timbers, and now I have a spare again so I'm happy. I may offload my Honey Badger soon.

Yeah, he really does a nice job with his knives. They aren't super popular on this forum, more on bcusa

Must be because I've never seen black gold or platinum.

Hey guys, you all know your guns, you were super close.

Technically a 300 Blackout (though only nominally different than the 300 whisper) with the Busse Urban Grudge LE

The top photo with the Bailey custom san mai damascus is a 6.5 Creedmoor.

Now for the win and a real nerd challenge, if you can identify the black rock in the top pic, which my son found on one of our hikes, you get the gold star. It is worth substantially more than all the knives in all my photos put together...

It's from space! :D

Sweet spread of blades, mach! There's some stuff there I'm not familiar with. What's the rock?!!

The rock is a tektite or more specifically a Bediasite. It is basically meteoric obsidian formed when massive meteors strike the earth and superheat the terrestrial matter, melting it into glass, which is thrown hundreds or thousands of miles away in line with the course of the meteor. This specimen was found in Texas and is from an impact off the coast of Virginia 1300 miles away. The Chesapeake Bay Impact Crater where the meteor landed is twice the size of Rhode Island and as deep as the Grand Canyon. Small specimens of Bediasite sell by the gram and this fist sized piece is one of the largest ever found.

Very cool. There are some folks out here that do some searching for meteorites. I hear about it once in awhile when they're talking to my dad, who is an avid gold hunter. I have come to understand that getting 'bitten by the gold bug' is a real thing. The gold bug actually exists, and if it bites you your eyes glaze over and you can think of nothing else but gold, ha. Thanks for sharing that, I can definitely appreciate its rarity.

WOW!!!!! That is incredible. How did you come to obtain this piece of the galaxy? Did you find it? NASA auction?

Just got my first Fiddleback a Bushcrafter. I believe it's 01 because it's SO easy to sharpen (Edit - it's A2 not 01). It's a very light little knife and it cuts beautifully.

How do you like the wrapped scales? Are they fairly comfortable?
That's a nice looking option.

- TY!! It's a great little knife. And it's A2 not 01. I was surprised becasue it sharpens like 01.

- I like the burlap and it makes the knife really light. It's also pretty comfortable so far. But I haven't done any hard work with it yet.

Keep us posted if you end up putting it to work.
Fiddleback makes some ridiculously nice knives and these wrapped versions are killer.

Will do!! Maybe I'll do a head to head of this one against my old 4.1.

It's bigger than the 3.5 and much closer to the 4.1. The Bushcrafter is longer than the 3.5 and taller than the 4.1 but shorter than the 4.1 as you can see below. It's very light because the handles are leather and burlap but so far it's pretty comfortable to work with. The handle is contoured on the bottom and the epoxied burlap is pretty tacky. It fits well into my XL hand and feels good in the different grips I use for carving. It would be a hell of a skinning knife. The A2 should hold an edge longer than 01 but still remain pretty easy to strop. I found some very small folds and shadows when I got it but after about 5 to 10 minutes on my strop 90% of the folds are gone and it'll shave.
