Tacticals Made by Us for Special OPS Forces

Finally got the handle shaped. Working on a new gaurd now. The first was a flop :grumpy: This knife seems to be taking forever. I'm glad they got the first shipment. Can't wait to get this in the mail. Probably about three weeks knowing the way I work. Hopefully sooner....... I'll send a pic once I get it put together.

Roger,

My blade got ruined in heat treat, so I'm making another, it should be done in the next few days. I'm sorry for the delay, but it's top on the list of priorities at this point.

This one looks even better than the last.

Sounds wonderful guys. Tony, sorry about the HT trouble but your persistance is something to be admired.

If you guys could keep posting pictures of either work in progress or final product, that woul be great. Keep up the excellent dedication!

Terry, that is posted somewhere back in this thread. It is within one of the emails I posted here (straight from the horse's mouth).

Roger, I sent emails to a local newspaper. Also to a news and radio personality I've made knives for in hope to get this story out to the public. I'm not sure if they will feel it's a story the want to publish, but it's worth a try. If it happens I would like to give them a list of all makers and the state they live in, that are involved in this project to give credit where credit is due. If giving them names is inappropriate just let me know. Hopefully this will shed some positive light on what we do.

I think that this project is about the troops getting some help and support from people like us. It is not about us getting publicity for doing this.

If a story were published, it should be about the troops.

After I wrote that and thought about it, I knew it was the wrong way of going about it. I just wasn't sure how this type of story would be written. I didn't mean to come off with trying to grab brownies points for those involved. I just feel proud about what we're doing and the way it would help our troops and want the world to know it. I am truely sorry if I offended anyone with that misworded statement. Please accept my apologies.

BTW, I'm finishing up my knife today and should have it in the mail tomorrow. :D

My concerns is that the media is not reporting things as they really are and it is reflected in the last email. That is what I thought worthy of news print.

There's an article in the current Knife World about a guy who's been sending knives to the troops. I haven't read it yet - just got the issue - but I think there is a way to do such an article properly, giving credit to everyone for their contribution. I'm not making my knife for recognition, but because I'm too damned old to go do my own thing anymore. I want to be a part of this job in any way I can. So I'll make one of our troops a knife and hope it helps in some small way. But that doesn't mean a properly written and respectful article should be out of the question. Just half a cent from the armpit of America.

Here is mine complete.

I just a couple days back recieved a really nice dagger, to say the least, from Nowicki (Larry). It is a caliber worthy of picture taking. Listen guys please: I am full time knife making and probably one of the most time consuming parts of my livelyhood is trying to take half way decent pictures and I am really challenged at that. I will not attempt to shoot pictures of your work. I do not have the time. I will not take the time. Please, if you can, post pictures of your work here. If you can not so be it but I will not be able to do it.

Here's a bad pic of my knife enroute to Roger. Hope it gets to him today. Once again I'm apologize for my poor photography skills. Hope to get it right someday. It is 3/16"x1 1/2" D2, 6 1/2" convex grind blade with bead blast finish, 5" handle, green canvas micarta with loveless screws and Spec Ops sheath.

Thanks Brian. I didn't radius my handles as much as yours, I've found I like them thicker with more handle to grip if you know what I mean. I showed it to a half a dozen people and asked if it felt comfortable and got all postive answers so hopefully it will be ok.

Just wanted to let you chaps know that I just recieved an email and photo of the SF Medic that I sent the knife to in Asscrackistan. Needless to say I am 'well chuffed' that he got it and its of some use :D :D
