Tacticals Made by Us for Special OPS Forces

Two great knives received yesterday, Terry's and Bill F.. One came without a sheath. Can I get some help on that from an interested sheath maker looking in. Else I'll ship without.

Also, one came without a note. At the least please let me know what type steel you make it of so that I might pass that along. I do know such things are emailed me or posted here but I just can't keep up with it all anymore and have not the spare time to back through emails and posting. So, any info you guys can send along with the knife I can include with the shipment to our guys. It is important to them.

Terry, I was able to see in a recent posting yours is of 1080 and I have noted that with your knife.

Thanks all and please remember too much info is not too much at all.

I hope you know these are free knives to support the Sf from here.
not a sellers forum.. send it to Roger if you understand that ;) :)
edited to add..
BTW nice Blade

but I'd ask you to remove the pictures from this thread if it is not to be given for the cause. does anyone disagree with me? if it was made for the cause
and being sent
please forgive me :footinmou :(

rlinger i was in such a hurry to get it to you/them that i completely forgot about the note and i also forgot to include the Arkansas sharpening stone i wanted to go with it also. If you can send my email along with it i will gladly answer any questions they have about it. It is 1080 steel, 3/16" thick by 1" wide and was clay coated. So do you think it good enough to send to them?

Thanks Dan.

Terry, I have already made up a little note that includes your email address and steel type (1080). Yes it sure is. Its good enough to send to Blade for the photo shoot too. Shall I? Please advise. These next few at least go to Blade first or straight to Afganistan. It is entirely up to the maker. That's another thing I'd like to ask: anyone sending a blade please state in the package whether I can send to Blade or not. I won't send to Blade unless given permission and I just don't have the spare time to ask everyone individually. Thanks a bunch. (we don't know if Blade will actually do an article or not but Brian tells me they wish to photograph in case - I hope I understand that correctly and Brian can correct me here if not)

rlinger if you think it is good enough, please do. Brian can you tell us more about whats going on with it so far?

I think this will be the one I put toward the effort:

afgan2.jpg

She is still pre-heat treat and is 1075, 1/4 inch thick X 2 1/2 inches max width, 12 1/2 inches OAL. I am thinking of using Eastern black walnut and Loveless bolts.

wow Roger you're getting that grind down pat nice job..

if Brian is close on the time of April, Mine is cool to go I hope.,,
I'll have one I drew up that I can't stop looking and chomping at the bit to get started. I wish I didn't have so much in the fire to do now :( ,

Roger the tracker cover I make would look real nice on that
you still have perm. to use the design... :)

Dan, thanks a bunch but I ain't even going to get into sheaths and sure not leather. I'll leave that to you guys. Much obliged. I really do like that design of yours too.

I've got six more just like that one setting on the table waiting for saw teeth. ....about 8 to 10 more to start for the next batch.

I bet Blade will be happy to hear we have some knives heading there way.
I'll email them tomorrow and let them know wats going on. Its all in limbo right now. Knives to them will surley help. There also interested in getting soldier feedback so I have sent them all of the input from this thread. They also want soldier images with the knives but I dont know that we can get that. Faces blurred of course.

I have my 2 in the temper cycle as we type ;)

Hurry up DAN!

Way to go Brian. Did I give you the email info for our contact over there? Honestly I can not remember except that I keep that tight to my chest unless otherwise essential. I am thinking I did. If not do you need it?

BTW, I just lucked out big time. My sheath maker Jamie Briggs offered to donate a sheath to wrap my WSK in for our force in Afganistan. If the WSK don't work I know for a fact his sheath will. Top notch stuff and a top notch feller; and I didn't even have to beg. He is buried in work but wanted to do this one for the effort.

RL

RL - email me the contact overthere. I promise not to bug him to death :D

Good news on the sheath. I am thinking of making a kydex with sharpening rod holder attached. The kydex would have a nylon webbing for the belt loop. Would a 2" or 2.5" loop be best?

I'll do it Brian. Might not be until tomorrow but you'll get it. Don't publish names on the net, even here. Anyone can see could see them. You know all that anyhow.

I am the wrong guy to ask about sheath advice.

RL

Got mine put together finally. Just have some finish work, then figure out a sheath. Shouldn't be too long now. Can't wait to get it in the mail. This thing has been dragging on for many weeks now and I'll be glad to get some closure!
Pics in the next few days.......

All you guys have been balls to the wall on this when ever time permitted. It has not and does not go un-noticed.

RL

Just in. Not in entirety but entire as I think it pertains.

I just read the latest on the forum and am really
stoked about everything. We haven't received the
second set yet the flights to our firebase have been
all weathered in lately due to the bad weather.

Your BLADE magizine contact hasn't e-mailed me yet but
it is cool to let him know I will provide as many
pictures from over here as he wants/needs.

I'm sorry I haven't been in contact as much lately. We
have been super busy chasing bad guys and doing good
things here.

Let me know if you need anything else on this end
brother.

Brian, I'll get you the contact info and name this day (02/24).

A little update, I'm finaly nearing completion of my donation knife, a little more testing, some sanding and it'll be ready for a gaurd and handle. Still havent decided to coat it black or not, the etched grain looks so good right now.

I'll try to get a pic up sometime today.

So far I've seen some awsome work, realy great guys.
