Tacticals Made by Us for Special OPS Forces

Don't have to email you to answer that question. It is. You just need to know that it should be shipped to me and I will turn it around within one day minimum or two days maximum. I will be emailing you my shipping address within the hour (10:43PM EST now).

Thanks. You da man.

RL

I just emailed our SF Alpha a few moments back and asked that they give me a secondary team to ship to. I am not able, as fast as things seem to be occuring, to keep total track of numbers but feel we have closely approached or exceeded our SF team force of 13 in number. New comers, keep'em coming if you wish to. They are doing so for us and I don't mind shipping them either. If I need help on shipping costs I'll put the pinch on some locals here (maybe a local bank or what ever).

RL

Frank, you're beautiful. I wouldn't know what to do with a dollars though. Knives I understand how to get to the cause. Bucks is another department. Love ya though for your thought. If its shipping costs you wonder about; well I don't know that yet myself until the first knife is boxed and ready. I will be questioning the post office soon when I box the first knife expected to arrive from Japan any day.

RL

Roger, It should be there any day now. Things to the US normally take about 5-7 days (Depending on day of posting) The worst was nearly two weeks but that could have just been a one off.

plus we had those holidays here in the U.S.. She''ll show up Simon. I will email you when she does. BTW, I have informed our contact that yours is for the medic - just as you wish it to be. It is done.

RL

Great, thanks Roger. I hope it comes in handy for him. I will get back to regarding the box we spoke of. Its a delicate subject that still upsets my wife so I have to time these things well.

Simon, (OT) email me about box dimensions. I spoke with Pop about it, as promised, but had not enough info to describe well enough. Give me particulars.

Roger

I will get you an alt e-mail a POC today as soon as
possible. (redacted)

As for the over flow I will make sure that any knife
sent will make it into a SF guys hands. If not from my
team then from another working here in country. The
word about what your doing here for us has spread
through the Spec Ops community and other guys would
love a good blade as well.

I will e-mail you as the knives arrive and the
Operator who gets the knife will e-mail or write each
maker personally.

Thanks again for you efforts and support brother.

This came in about an hour ago. I had to go back and ask permission to post. I was given permission to post. I felt it important enough to ask. Guys, this is what its all about. This is why we are and can be of some importance. There is a real world out there and it don't smell too sweet to me this particular early morning. The more enemy caused to die the better for liberty here and elsewhere. It is our hero fighters on the front lines elsewhere that keep the front line from our door steps. Remember. They brought the front line to us and then ours, the best of us, took it to them. It is without saying that the very best knife of choice will most respectfully go to the fallen's father. I might suggest our best etcher offer to do that when needed (read the email below and it will be understood).

Like you, I am speachless at that kind of patriotism
and support I am truely humbled by that kind of
American and all those who are giving to this project.

We know that many knife makers are under appreciated
for their craft/art and that to give their time and
money to make something for someone they have never
met thousands of miles away still amazes all of us.

Roger with your permission I would like to send a
knife to the father of one of our guys who was just
killed in a ambush yesterday, one of our guys would
carry it here for a while in his memory then we will
engrave his name on it and send it with a flag flown
here to the family. I know that this is not the intent
of this project (for knives to be given as a memorial
to families back home), but I know this guy would have
really loved to have carried one of these blades and
now he won't have the chance.

This request is between you and I..I really don't want
people to hear the details of our daily losses.
Although I know now it will strenghten the resolve of
some good Americans I don't want to cast a bad light
on this war..the focus shouldn't be our losses least
we loose sight of what many good men have given their
lives for.

Thanks again for you all in this...

You are helping in so many ways you don't even know..

I started to write something but couldnt put it down eloquently enough.

Suffice it to say that I feel his parents will appreciate the gesture that so many were thinking of him, without even knowing his name.

:(

Simon, I want to curse but somehow the moment escapes me. I do take this so very personal. God help me I want all them dead. I so very much want all them dead. I'm in for the long run.

Looks like your knife will be the one to arrive first Simon. To the medic she goes one or two days after I receive.

I think it's truly an honor to think one of our knives could stand as a memorial to one of our fallen. My heart swells with pride and sadness, not sure which is greater. I wish I could do something more. Thank you, soldiers, for your sacrifice and courage and commitment.

I would love to make one also. I am probably not as experienced as most of the respondents in this thread but I do make a good knife. I would like to know what style; size, steel and other variables you think should be met. I use primarily 5160 and 1095. A suggestion on the sheath design and its probable placement on the web gear will also help.

My turn to jump in here..For those of you wondering what style knife to mkae just look at the Randals from ww2 and Vietnam and Korea, also spear point blades are a great daily carry option then you have the double edged Boot knives in 4-6 inch legths and fairly thin...As stated before they will appriceate anything sent..Either steel mentioned above properly heat treated will work great,I use 5160 on all my knives by the way(except Damascus :D )...

As for a Memorial made from our knives"No bigger Honor could be placed upon our work" in my opinion.Maybe some of us could donate a special knife ( alittle fancier than normal) just for this purpose,We definately want all the soldiers to return home safe and sound to there loved ones, but we all know some will pay the ultimate sacrafice for our country and something a little special should be called for,to memorialise this sacrafice.

I have one on a soldiers hip that is just heading out now and 2 that will be delivered by months end before there recipeants are shipped out.I will try and work in one or two for this project also,If I can't be there in person protecting my family and freedom at least I can be there in spirit(read this as my spirit that lives in the steel I forge and my thoughts of hoping to help save one or more of our soldiers lives that are there).

This is the best thing us Knifemakers could possiably be doing to help out.

Bruce

Please count me in. I'm planning on a small run of knives for some friends and family that are in Iraq right now. I'll add a couple more to my run and will send them along in the next few weeks.

God Bless our troops, and everyone at home that supports them. They are the reason we enjoy all the freedoms that we do here at home.

To All,

I think that it is great what everyone is doing here. These knives will make the day of some guys across the pond. I have spent the last 12 years in the US Special Operations Command, and would like to thank you all for them. I will tell you that anything sent will be treasured. I work with Special Forces, Navy Seals, Force Recon Marines, and AFSOC guys everyday and they would all tell you that.

I would like to ask that some look into sending to more than just Special Forces, others like the 75th Ranger Regt, which I was a member for 10 years are in it neck deep just like the rest of them. So are the straight leg infantry guys right now are killing more ragheads than any SpecOPs could dream of. I have sent several knives to my Ranger buddies so far, and will do more. I have plenty of contacts that are there and going if anyone is interested. Frank Eaton
