Tacticals Made by Us for Special OPS Forces

Roger, when I'm ready to send you the knife let me know how much money you need to ship my knife and I will include that amount in the package. I am willing to do this again if needed. I have the utmost respect for all of our fellow Americans who put their lives on the line everyday to protect everyone one back home. For all the soldiers who are following this thread, God be with you, stay strong and remember we're all here for you. Thank you for all you are doing from the bottom of my heart. While I was profiling and grinding the blade, I actually got chills thinking that I can finally do something for the good of my country by providing a quaility piece of equipment that may help save someone's life. I am putting my heart and soul into making this knife. God Bless our troops.

Well said Scott. I will know what the shipping is or about what to expect it to be per knife in a very few days. Our contact seems to believe it will be about what it would cost to ship across country. If that be correct I would guess a single knife and sheath might be 5 to 7 dollars Priority US mail, not including insurance cost. The address I have does not give me a clue as to the destination. It has no state or country on it. Army address I suppose and I will question the post office intently when I get the first package there for shipping. I will also, before shipping the first one, reconfirm the address with our contact. I am asking for no assistance in shipping costs. I bit that off in the beginning and will not back out of that. Assistance will not be refused though.

should be no more than that it will go to a Mil post office here in the states
APO FOP ect,,
then be shipped by mil mail to over there..I believe :)

Roger it would be nice too to take pictures of all the knives before you let them go
then when you know who received them put the name on the pictures
addresses of both the maker and receiver so thanks can be relayed if the receiver had the mind to..
I know if I was on the other end I'd want to be able to..

Yes, I have been asking all that send knives here to include a note that includes contact info and info about the knife and any other info they wish to include. That will be shipped with the knife.

Here is my knife so far. I do not have a bandsaw so what you see was cut out with a 4.5in angle grinder with flap wheel and Dremel with router attachment to squar up the edges. Right at 12" long, 2" wide at the finger guard, 3/16" thick and made of S7. Let me know what you think and with any problems that you see. Thanks guys.

Mark, Nice nice. I'm sure that whoever receives it will be very pleased.

That S7 should do the job Mark. Real good. Do you think the finger gaurd is a little long? Hard to go by pictures though. Looks like the ticket Mark.

a lot of work with just those tools.
I was thinking the finger gaurd was looking long too.
and thick but I'm sure once you get finishing on it that will change some :)
nice job so far..

I think that the finger guard looks too long because the finger cho is a bit oversized, larger then the space below the guard. I did that so if a person had gloves on they could put their finger into the cho without worrying about the blade cutting their glove. I will take a look at it and see, maybe reshape it. Thanks for the ideas guys I do want it to turn out well.

Mark,

The first instict is usually the best. The way you design it is probably the way it should be. It'll be fine as you see fit.

Just received first knife. It is from Fox in Washington state. A real beauty and right down the pike. Great note enclosed for the recipient too. Real nice Fox. I'll get her out after verifying some shipping essentials.

I'll try to post a pix sometime this evening. Right now my camera batteries are charging and I am about to hit the sack from being up all night grinding some Scandis (I've got my days and nights mixed up again).

Guys,

I'd like to jump in here and apologize for the new thread I posted today. When I did so, for some inexplicable reason I simply hadn't read this thread. Instead, I came into work into focused on the interchange of e-mails with Matt Shade.

Instead of a new thread, I would have sent my input directly to Roger and let him work it through. Still, Roger,if you do need any help in this great effort, I will be happy to do what I can.As the old saying goes, I want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

Welcome to a fine project Dave!

For what it's worth, I did finally get my sketch transfered to an acrylic pattern. I'm going to try to get this baby cut out this weekend and maybe do a little grinding. It's been a long time since I was this interested in a new knife - too much working on orders and too little creativity... I'm psyched!

My blade is on it's way for heat treat and cryo treat. I'll have it back in two weeks then about three or four days to complete. Hopefully Roger, you'll have it in a three week time period. The anticipation to completion is exciting. :D It is based on my usual designs but tweaked a little toward more of a combat style blade. Can't wait to finish and get it into the hands of an American Hero. :)

Dave, your thread was perfectly timed. See my latest post on your thread. You may have been a God send.

Rodger, count me in! When deployed, I was thrilled to get books, food, anything,.... but a handmade knife would have made my day for months. I am happy for this chance to help provide some support to a soldier. I am very grateful to you for coordinating this effort.
I will start working on something this weekend. I can't wait to get started on this. I'll email you for your address when I near compleation.
Thanks again for this opportunity.

Roger, e-mail sent. No one's ever called me God sent before, I'm blushing. Just let me know any way I can help.
Ed, that's one hell of a knife, and the sheath is Unbelievable!
