I wonder how many people would guess "knife" if shown this picture and asked to identify the device. Not knife nuts, they'd guess the abomination is a knife from the visible pocket clip and frame lock mechanism. I mean, just show some normal person and see what they think this is. I'm guessing not many would think this was a pocketknife.

It's at best an ironic statement /artistic creation of some sort .

That blade might be nice mounted on a polearm , but not in your pocket .

so... this dawson fixed blade is really puzzling... decent price just over $200 for a cpm-3v blade -- yay right?
but then they ruin it with 'tip jimping'??? and a recurve??.... can anyone see any valid reason for 'tip jumping'?? I can't imagine one, not even if I stretch

Benchmade did that with their "Hunt" line, tip jimping and recurve. They wised up and got rid of the recurve in the new models. I tried to ignore the jimping, I couldn't do it. All it did was snag on things I was trying to cut. Damn thing even got stuck once trying to dig out an arrow head from a tree, I had to use another knife to dig it out. I guess if I had no clearance and I needed to pull a small line or cable, the jimping could be used as a hook, but I wouldn't do that either. I think it is intended to give you some non slip grip while choked up for fine point work, which I do pretty often, can't say I've ever thought of needing jimping there. Definitely didn't want it there.
