Tacticlol Knives II: The Return of Ridiculous

Penerally those particular fighting styles are about as gimmicky as the knife.

I can hand trap and put you in locks with my method.

Stab stab stab stab stab.

And then I found the video.
Fact is, years before Tops made the Back Bite, it was introduced by some Russians, they were plenty of videos showing different techniques with this blade, including few seriously heavy pieces of mea, dressed in denim so it will give you some idea how good on slash and stab this blade is. The “wounds “ were devastating.
‘Just general FYI, I’m not too prone either of any of these “specialty” blades but let’s not forget, such blades are only tools, with proper and good training, the user is the weapon, especially with this specimens that doesn’t look a lot like “defensive” knife.

Oh, 100% the Wharncliffe is effective, even if this guy is a little ridiculous. I just saw this, and was thinking why I'd prefer that to a Janich design.
Seems like they took a good concept and just went a little nuts with it, like "Yeah, then we'll show me winning a bunch with the knife, yeah..."

This one is actually designed for a specific fighting technique/ style

Although it does resemble a scrapper / paint roller cleaner .
I have this weird habit... there are very rare activities that I need a highly specified knife for. Mushroom hunting, for example, I only want a curved blade. I bought my girlfriend a beautiful Opinel no. 8 mushroom knife for this purpose, and when we go mushroom hunting, you know what I like? An all-black TiCN-coated Matriarch 2, good buddy! I was thinking of giving it red scales off my Endura trainer just for that extra tacticool factor, but I just think it's funny. Point being, I love using something "tacticool" for my most specific and mundane tasks, I would totally use this as a paint-scraper, just not this version... BudK's version or something 😂

This blade is for different purposes and requires different mindset and serious training to be safely used.
Yanich’ blade, the Yojimbo, is to some extend self defense blade, I personally would not prefer Back Bite, over Yojimbo. As purpose and as techniques for using…

Oh, in case my comment was phrased weird, I was also stating that I would take a MJ design over that.
I am guilty of not having received proper/formal training of any sort, though, which must be remedied.

sorry, I just HAD to add this monstrosity of a folding knife here... it's even for sale now at the low price $10k (really, not joking)

it was on the cover of a magazine...

Hypothetically - How is the “Operator” supposed to carry this ? I’d assume it’s got a variety of equally high quality potential sheaths. Why not just make it a fixed blade. Actually, Why make it at all? Maker flexing his abilities? That thing is horrible. 10k 😂👍🥇

That sculpture actually makes me angry, more angry the longer I stare at it.

I do respect other’s opinions. Todd Begg paid his dues. To each their own

Honestly how much MORE effective is this than a dagger?? No crossguard less slashing ablity, zero utility, I see the motivation behind the design and its not bad or worse...just a bit like a gyroscopic battery powered paper weight...over specialising breeds in weaknesses.

I want to see a video of that thing breaching anything.

Is it one time use ? As in one swing and done ? Would the head not rotate ? I assume That thing would sustain damage after one use making incapable of collapsing again.

Wharncliffes are great slashers, not sure about this one in particular, but take a Yojimbo type knife, that worked better on a meat man with clohtes than a lot of traditional fighting knife shapes.
