Does anyone speak french? Apparently this knife was not created as an expensive joke. lol

Yeah, the dude goes over the specs (440 blade! Wow!) and how to get a hold of the designer. Then he goes on about all the impractical ways to hold the blade.

He makes a funny comment about how people likely to use this knife are already familiar with the handling of firearms and so the ergos will be good for fighting. I'm not really sure what that means. I don't know about you guys, but being somewhat familiar with pistols, I had never though to use one to slash and stab at an opponent. YMMV.

He also compares the lock to a BM Axis talks a bit about deployment and carry. There's also a kydex sheath available so you can carry it in the open "pistol" configuration.

My favourite bit is his line at the end: "conçu pour les professionels, bien sûr!" (Designed for professionals, of course!)

Vacuum heat treated?? Uh... There's no oxygen in a vacuum so how are they heat treated?? Maybe they meant vacuum cleaner :D

not only vacuum heat treated but then the super duper japanese 8A stainless steel is QUENCHED in SUB-ZERO...wait what the hell is it quenched in??
The lack of oxygen is the point of vacuum heat treat, or using an inert gas like argon. This keeps the carbon in the steel from reacting with oxygen in the atmosphere when austenizing so the steel surface does not decarb or oxidize. Ever heard of BG-42 steel? It is produced by VIM-VAR, which is vacuum induction melting-vacuum arc remelting, vacuum technology is common enough in steel making.

Sub-zero treatments are done with either dry ice or liquid nitrogen. This convert austenite to martensite for steels with a very low Mf temperature, and also precipitates some very small carbides.

Ok guys I hope a thread like this hasnt been made before although I'm sure it has.. Post those knives that are called tactical but they just make you laugh when you see them. Whether it be by their name or description or just the way they look.

My general rule is that if a knife is described as "Tactical", then I probably think it's a silly, impractical piece of junk.

As someone who favors function over form, "Tactical" knives are generally worthless to me.

It must be. It certainly doesn't look wicked enough to be the Screeching War Eagle of Furious Righteous Vengeance :D

I'd love to see a knife that combines all of the aspects of what a "tacticool" knife should be.

Serrated serrations, double-blacked blade (it was blackened, then blackened again because the first time just didn't get the job done), that sort of thing.

And of course, it would have "awesome" or "wykked" etched into the blade...

Also, over the top ad copy.

"Quenched in the tears of a thousand terrorists, the Screeching War Eagle of Furious Righteous Vengeance is just the thing you need in the urban combat warzone you call home."
