TAD customer service

I have had nothing but good transactions with TAD. They are my favorite place to get blades. Custom service has been nothing but excellent.

You order the same item and bail out at the last minute twice, and you feel victimized? Seems to me like TAD was right. You ordered and cancelled twice.. when it was understood from their policy that you shouldn't pre-order unless you really intend to buy.

Maybe they should say "don't pre-order unless you really, really, really, REALLY intend to buy!" Would that get the point across clearer?

I see a lot of comments regarding the issue of Tom Poe cancelling his pre-order twice. That is actually none of my business.

What is MY business is that MY name was mentioned in that email. What's up with that? I've ordered stuff from TAD in the past, and received GREAT SERVICE. I've never cancelled an order with them. I've never pre-ordered anything from them. I did absolutely nothing worthy of what they did with my name.

I'm very tired. I go on vacation next week. If I feel like it, I plan to talk, not exchange email, with TAD regarding this.

The point is that he didnt change his mind.
He bought the item somewhere else after asking them to buy it for him.
Twice.

"The point is that he didnt change his mind."

That's his issue, not mine. Like I said, that's none of my business.
I'm not going to get in the middle of that.

Like I said, "What is MY business is that MY name was mentioned in that email." My name should have never been mentioned. In business, one should NEVER mention one customer to another, unless it's positive.

My point and Tom Poes point are two entirely different points. Do you see MY point? BTW, no sarcasm intended.

I'm going to bed.

this is the last i have to say on this-

i did not see that policy on the site and i was not told when i pre ordered about the policy.

i don't care what i cancelled the email was out of line. i never talk to people that way and i don't expect it from them. any email a business sends out is subject to public display and they should know better. accusing me of being somebody else is bs too, they have my info.

i knew alot of people would praise tad and that's all i've heard about them. these people will buy from them regardless, but others might reconsider and this is the cost for evan running off at the mouth. when i called him on the phone he apologized, when you're right you don't apologize.

Tom Poe. . .feel better now ?

You received a e-mail from TAD that stated, "you will never get anything from us so don't even try to order or call us."

So ?

Some may think that the verbiage used was a little strong. . .and evidently you do.

Honestly, I don't think that you were wronged. The e-mail that you received was to the point and pretty precise !

What you did was wrong ! Period

As far as being called "lynn o little...what ever your name is". . . Big deal !

My suggestion. . .follow through on your order !

Oh. . .ignorance of the law ("i did not see that policy on the site and i was not told when i pre ordered about the policy.") . . .doesn't exempt you from following the law !

L.O. Little - it is odd that they mentioned your name. Since the email seems to have been written by Evan, you should call and speak with him. Seems like he thought you two were the same person, I don't know why. Maybe your email addresses are similar or something. At any rate, it looks like a simple mix-up that should be easily remedied with a phone call. BTW, I've met Evan several times and he's a great guy, I wouldn't expect any problems.

I have bought from TAD and will do it again.

Excellent service and great packaging.

So, Tom...I see you've posted this silliness in not one, not even two, but THREE different knife-related forums (KnifeForums Post). This looks like an attempt at a smear campaign to me. And I see that very few, if any, people have rallied to your defense. TAD have been around a long time, dealing great products to us knife freaks. YOU are a virtual unknown. This community is based on the reputation people have built for themselves (and their business). In my opinion, TAD's rep easily outweighs ONE pissed off email. Your rep? Hell, I've never even heard of you. But you can damn well bet that most of us are going to think twice before dealing with you. To pull out of a deal like that (TWICE!) is BAAAAD Ju-Ju! How are we to know that you won't back out of private deals too? Give it a rest.

L. O. Little. . .the name that I've been given, by my parents, has nothing to do with this thread nor subject.

Simply. . .

1. Tom Poe should have never posted that e-mail

2. But, if Tom Poe were to post the e-mail. . .he should have left your name out of it.

I empathize with you. But, have a beef about your name being used in the said e-mail or this thread ? Take it up with your boy Tom Poe or the author of the e-mail send to Tom Poe.

Your beef isn't with me.

"As far as being called "lynn o little...what ever your name is". . . Big deal !"

GigOne, my name and my reputation are important to me. That's why I do have one minor beef with you. When you say "Big deal" regarding the use of my name by Evan at TAD, that bothers me. That said, my beaf with you is now hamburger. Finished. Water under the bridge...

I'm not going to side for or against Tom Poe. He has a beef with TAD. Like I said before, that's none of my business.

"Take it up with your boy Tom Poe or the author of the e-mail send to Tom Poe."

I plan to call Evan Monday. In my own personal experience with TAD, I have been impressed with their service, attitude, etc. TAD has always treated me very professionally.

So you get an apology from someone at TAD, I would assume it was Evan, and you even use that against them. This is really starting to look like you are nothing more than a cry baby.

Evan could have been more diplomatic, but him telling you that he did not want to do business with you any more makes perfect sense to me. He probably figured you would just do the same thing again since you have already proved you are willing to back out of a deal at the drop of a hat. Why should he waste his time on you? Have you been a good customer in other deals with TAD or are these two instances the only experiences that they have to judge you from?

By the way, I read elsewhere that TAD had not missed any promised delivery dates, so they in no way can be held responsible for you cancelling your orders. This was done just because you felt like it.

I have ordered many things from TAD AND I have kept my word and purchased them when they become available. TAD held you accountable for your word, something that should be done more often in our world. I suggest you think about how you view your word. My word is my word! -Dick

Hah! Got your pound of flesh, eh? I worked customer service for 14 years. Most who have worked in it will agree, "the customer is always right" is a concept, not reality. So wave your apology around like a bloody flag to vindicate that you were right not to read their pre-order policy; "Hey, I didn't know so I'm not responsible." Sure sound like, "I didn't read the law, I didn't know twisting of someone's head is attempted murder." There's a thing called common sense or maybe common knowledge, or perhaps personal morals. These things are in short supply...especially in some.

I couldn't wait till Monday. I just spoke with Evan. He apologized, saying that somehow, the fact that I live in the same general vicinity (different zip code, city, drastically different email address) made him think Tom Poe & I were the same person...

I let him know it wasn't very professional to mention my name in an email to another customer. I'm not happy with what he did, but he admitted he was wrong and apologized.

For me, the matter is closed.

so now I understand the whole thing. I have ordered from Evan and will again.

This Tom Poe has also opened yet another kvetch thread over at GlockTalk in the Cutting Edge Forum. How many more forums can he find to bitch I wonder?

Time to let it go. And LO, I am glad things are square for you now.
