Take a peek at Cold Steel's 2008 lineup

well this sucks. The only thing I see me getting from Cold Steel in 2009 is the mini lawman. I scrolled all the way to the bottom, saw the paradox and was SO happy....and then I read it....GAY

Yeah, shame really, Coldsteel of all companies acutally has the potential to come out with a decent quality balisong for a reasonable price. No idea why they don´t.

I don't think there's much money in making a new bali seeing how it's illegal to carry in practically every state.

yeah, the fake balisong is super gay. Why on earth would you want something that looks like a balisong but takes two hands to open? just to look like a tough guy ninja?

anyway, balisongs are legal to own almost anywhere, and there are a few states where they are legal to carry, including pennsylvania, where I am now (check local laws, most cities outlaw them, but they're legal at the state level.

Really a shame Cold Steel continues to mess up their push daggers. The old Safekeepers were made of crappy steel, but were designed correctly. I had hoped Cold Steel would use a better steel on their push daggers. Then came along the Safemakers with a better steel, but they messed up the design (flat backside). Looks like Cold Steel is continuing with the crappy design in 2009. I was really hoping they were going to fix this problem. Oh well, I guess Cold Steel will not be getting any of my money.

Believe it or not there are some individuals out there who like the Black Rock Hunter because it takes two hands to open. I've run into some folks who are just super paranoid about knives opening in their pockets etc. and simultaneously want it super strong and super cheap. The Black Rock fits that bill to a T.

not the black rock, the other one. It's on the last page, and it goes on and on about how it's designed to "give the look of a custom balisong when it's clipped to your pocket."

Why on earth would you want something that looks like a stiletto switchblade but opens manually? just to look like a tough guy ninja?

Spartan does look good. Funny, for a company I don't put in my favorites they get a lot of my money:eek:

Sometimes I wonder if they just shouldn't stick to the Voyager and Vaquero series.

What I miss is the Shinobu and Clip Mate series; they had the San Mai III blades that are ridiculously hyped, but great, rock-solid locks and wonderful Thermorun handles...

well in this case the whole selling point of the knife is that it looks like a balisong when it's not. The sales pitch from the catalog states that the big advantage is that all your friends will see it clipped to your pocket and think you have a butterfly knife.

a manual stiletto is somewhat useful, but if it came with a fake button so you could tell your friends it's a switchblade it would be silly.

Yeah, I'm saying the ti lite and the paradox are meant to look cool. These knives have their place I guess but they are not for me.
