Talonite sample knife contest...

Anyone know if Talonite anodizes well? Does it heat color nicely?

this is really cool! I want to enter this too. I have a couple Ideas but Im still not too happy with them. Im not sure yet but it will be interesting to use. thanks again for the sample tom. I really like your sample, rothrandir. its really neat.

I finally thought of a design...a mini hatctet. It will have about a 1 3/4" handle and a 7/8" straight cutting edge. Now all I gotta do is figure out how to cut it out.

steven, i was wondering the same thing.
annodyzing of some sort would be very nice. it did discolor a bit while machining (mainly bluish), but i was able to sand it off with ease.

it was ground with an 8 inch bench grinder. 120 grit stone i think.

abuot 1.5 hours the first time, then i decided i didnt like it and spent another half an hour regrinding the bevel and thumbramp, and about 15 minutes with a scotchbrite bad. total : about 2 hours 15 minutes.

there are a couple of 1st's for me here...my 1st Talonite blade,and also 1st attempt at serrations...based on my wicked lil sister design...i think I'll call it lil biatch

I just finished up my knife yesterday. Here are some pictures, they aren't the best, sorry.

Defenitely not a winner, but I had fun making it, and plan to get some use out of it as a keychain knife.
