Tc barlows & mind blowing sheath give-away**WINNERS ANNOUNCED**

1,What 21st century model production traditional folder besides the TC Barlow do you think will be a desirable collectible in the future?
My vote is for the #85 also

2,What etching/graphics would you like to see on a TC Barlow blade?
None, I prefer a clean blade with just the makers mark on the tang.

3,Why you like the TC Barlow - in what design?
It's a great looking knife, with a classic look.

4,Why you think you should win a TC barlow ( this may be a hard one to answer - but give it a shot ).
I'm no more deserving than the next person, but, I don't own any TC Barlow's and would love to add one to my collection.

What a GAW extravaganza!

By the way, Barry, what is that stitching called on that beautiful pocket sheath? I'm planning to try making a pocket slip out of a piece of old ball glove (thanks to Jennifer's (jone's) inspiration), but all I dare to try is buck stitching or maybe whip stitch.

GT, that lacing stitch is called the "double loop"; you'll have to google it to find instructions and it is a little complicated. Good luck!

This thread continues to gain epic momentum. That is another beauty Chief. Just like this forum this thread is a gathering of the cream of the crop. Thanks to all involved who make this place what it is with their knowledge, generosity, and willingness to share their passion.

Chris

Duncan, Thanks for allowing me to hitchhike onto your thread.

Welcome aboard Chief!
Thanks for your fantastic addition. That is a beautiful knife with history!

This is indeed the "MOTHER AND FATHER OF ALL GAW'S"

Primble, you can't touch this!!!!

John ( Chief )

WOW!!!.... one of THE killer runs of TC's...THAT Sir is a beautiful knife my friend, Paul, Stephen. and Barry and myself wish to thank you so much for this - this is awesome of you - man that is a sweet knife.
You four guys have put up some absolute treasures - making me feel a bit inadequate here guys!!! :D

So Johns knife goes into the NON TC Barlow owners pool - awesome - John Thank you!

Mods - are we allowed to enter our own giveaway?

Hey everyone..we have another NEWSFLASH
...... THE man himself is also entering a knife in this giveaway - WOW...this is amazing - Charlie, I will leave it up to you to decide which pool the knife goes into, we will work out how we draw these prizes a bit later on

My name is Duncan and I am a newbie here :)

I dont own any knives at all, but have always dreamed of owning a TC Barlow.:D

I think the HJ will be a collectable knife in the future - because of the strong tie in Traditional uses that it was made for.

I would like to see Charlies signature - as the etch - its time for that now.

why I deserve to win, I dont own any knives and for me to have a TC Barlow would just...it would just be a dream come true because of the esnyx man has stolen them all, and he has now won all of the other smaller give-aways TC's as well.

Thank you for considering me in your draw.:D

Oh yeah!!! The man hisself is adding to the hoard! Thank you so much for all you do Charlie and... ALSO, in honor of our esteemed ZEN MASTER entering the fray,

I AM OFFERING UP A SECOND, CUSTOM MADE KNIFE SLIP!!!

That's right, another slip, this one in an acorn leaf motif. OK, I felt a little inadequate with all the fine barlows flying around so I upped the ante a little. I will post photos tomorrow.

WOW!!

Awesome news, but I kinda feel guilty because its like walking on Primble Grave.

Barry, thats fantastic - THANK YOU !!!

hehe what say you now Primbs? eh? cant hear you Primbies...cant hear you?

I will say that today has been the most entertaining day I have ever had on BF. I could withdraw from the GAW and would still come out a winner. Too cool. Thanks again gents.

Chris

Thank you Charlie, amazing, amazing, amazing:thumbup: Thank you Barry for an additional slip...your craftsmanship is fantastic:thumbup:

Wow, this is fun:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

John - Welcome! It's awesome to have you on board. And, wow, a long-pull two blade ebony clip point! What a wonderful prize, and one that I know will make some first time Charlow owner, very, very happy.

Barry - a 2nd hand-made sheath? Very generous of you my friend. Don't give them all away though as I have to get on the customer list for one of those before they're all gone. :)

Paul - I'm glad that you were able to stay strong in the face of Primble's Svengali act. He can be quite hypnotic with those Charlows of his.

Duncan - I left the house for a few hours this evening and came home to discover that not only had you forced Primble into a humbling submission, but that our GAW had gotten so much better with the addition of John and then Barry's additional gift; and now I understand that Charlie is also joining in as well? Outstanding! Thank you for your leadership my friend!

This is turning out to be a pretty epic gaw for sure! I already have a few Charlows so I only qualify for the ones that are open to both. Thanks for the chance everybody involved!

1,What 21st century model production traditional folder besides the TC Barlow do you think will be a desirable collectible in the future? I think some of the GEC 25 knives will be highly sought after especially the easy open models.

2,What etching/graphics would you like to see on a TC Barlow blade? I really like the etch on the sheepsfoot & days work charlows but on a new one I think a rifle on the walnut version to represent where the scales came from or where at least intended to go would be cool. The next days work could have like a depressed bull etched on there or something too lol jk. :)

3,Why you like the TC Barlow - in what design? Its just such a classic & iconic pattern & disappears in my pocket. My favorite is easily the single sheepsfoot blade version with walnut scales! The long bolsters & that TC stamp are just stunning & classy.

4,Why you think you should win a TC barlow ( this may be a hard one to answer - but give it a shot ). I don't really have an answer for this one as I don't think I deserve one more than anybody else. Actually I've already been on the receiving end of Charlie's generosity so I probably don't deserve one at all but I would sure love a chance at that gorgeous pocket sleeve that Barry hand crafted! What a work of art that is. :)

Thanks again everybody!

Jake

I just wanted to hop on again and say yet another thank you to Duncan and Primble. Things were getting a little tense in Trad Land, and this thread along with Primbles FAKE ( :upset: :hurt:) give away thread have really brought this whole thing back around. I really do appreciate the generosity of all of the donors, but more than the giving of a knife these two have given me back a feeling of belonging. Of course, I'm assuming that Duncan is doing the drawing for this giveaway. If somebody else is actually picking the names let me know and I'll come back and edit your name into this post in his place. :p

Seriously though, thanks a ton. Not only have there been some epic giveaways recently, this has been an epic day of funness in the traditional forums.

This is not a post!
Therefore, I do not have to deny that this is an entry!
No foul, so no infraction, right??;)

There is a rumor that a new Barlow is coming out early next year! I want to add to the rumor, that a prize has been added to Duncan's GA!!
Duncan, defender of all the freedoms that make America great, even though he's a Kiwi! To add a little more to this burgeoning GA, I hereby (just a rumor, mind you) donate a new Barlow, whatever it is, whenever they are made!!
We did not have this conversation!

(And I was in the front of the costume!!!):p

Hi guys, I'd love to enter, I don't own a Barlow of any sort or anything made by GEC.

As far as modern production folders I'm a little in the dark, but the viper seems to carry a lot of weight.

I'm with a few others on the addition of script on a blade, I prefer sterile finishes. But I love (again for posterity LOVE) match strike pulls, would love to see a TC Barlow with one (maybe on a sheepsfoot, I desperately want that ebony sheepsfoot)

I like the Barlow, and the TC especially for it's simple, classic lines that harken back to an easier time.

I don't think I deserve to win any more than anyone else, but I would love to win my first Barlow here and for it to be a TC Barlow would be incredible.

Thanks for the GAW Duncan, and to all those who have put forward stuff for this GAW. Mathis place feels like a home away from home!
