Yes the signature goes underneath. I made a smaller one in the same style and it works great. A smaller version would certainly sell.

And does the "TAI" logo go on the underside? The handle seems to fit better that way.

On all but the very first one made. I originally put it on top, to be more visible. After I made it, we talked about it and Tai decided to put it on the bottom (less visible).

So, somewhere out there, is hammer number 1 with the mark on top.

Yes, we do plan on making a lighter weight version. I think all we'll have to do is trim about a pound of fat off it. It should go pretty easy since we already have the computer modeling for the first one.

The "TAI" does go on the bottom. It's a nice fit to the handle and all you should have to do is drive the handle through the eye, put in the wedges and trim the top down a little.

We're trying a special black oxide finish on the next batch... can't wait to see how they look.
