Teaser for the Hammer Men

I'm getting 1 dozen before the Hammerjamin and another dozen ASAP.

I'll be heat treating what I have finished next weekend to ship to Tai for his hammer in. I'm aiming for 12, but that is not a foregone conclusion.

I have to apologize to the folks who have been waiting. Everybody here should know me well enough by now to realize I'm just really freekin slow...

...Too many irons in the fire...

Nathan, good things are worth waiting for. :)

Stephan, They will come with a 14 inch blacksmith hammer handle, with a nice close fit to the eye.

I like the milled finish on the prototype, it looks almost like a Turkish twist! :D :p

seriously tho.... ;)

What is the price gonna be on these Tai? I really like it!!!

Thanks guys!

I'm not comfortable posting the price on the forum. Not that it's too expensive or too cheap, but it just doesn't seem appropriate on this board, and prices could change.

This is just a "teaser". :)

If you are interested in getting on the waiting list, the best thing to do is shoot me an email at:
taigoo@msn.com

I will also be putting an ad on my website for them at:

Nathan did a great job with the machining and heat treating. Thanks Nathan! :)

Here’s what a bag of them looks like...

I can honestly say I've never taken in a shop project quite like it. It is very satisfying to help build tools for smiths I hold in such high esteem such as Don and Tai. Working with Tai has been outstanding. The entire process has been fun. Jobs like that don't come around very often.

Got mine the other day also. Very nice hammer. I can't wait for my new regulator for my forge to get here so I can work some hot metal. Thanks guys!

I got to use one for the first time at the HammerJamin. It really moves steel. In fact faster than I expected. I have since brought mine home and handled it. Now I have used it in the forging of a couple of blades. it still works great. as with anything new, the more you use it the better and easier it seems to work. I have many hammers and will still use the ones I have, but for heavy hand forging this one is great.

Me too. Make a smaller version and it will sell!

And does the "TAI" logo go on the underside? The handle seems to fit better that way.
