TechStudio K01 Profile Sharpening System

Yes the 22mm or 24mm length should work.
It's not just the scissor attachments that has the problem, it's any attachments that have the recessed steel nut paired with the all steel screw.
The all steel screw is slightly shorter than the plastic capped screws, the plastic capped screws will engage a few threads and are useable but still too short to be correct.
For this screw size (M5-0.8) to feel correct it should have a minimum of 1.5 X the screw diameter of engaged thread length.
If your in a pinch 25mm length can be found on amazon.

Hi there, as soon as we get them here I will update.

I have a problem.

I messed up one of the pivot bearings, the whole assembly came apart at the brass piece because of no loctite, so I'm missing tiny washers since they fell into the sink. When I tried to reassemble without washers, apparently I tightened it enough where I may have messed up the bearing rail.

Anyone have trouble with the single clamp and getting both sides of the knive af the exact same angle?

*** For info *** The next big shipment of Wranglerstar kits is in production and the factory says they will leave Russia the first week of July. As there are still back orders for some Wranglerstar kits, I recommend that you go ahead and place an order on our website so you will be sure to get one before they run out. As a reminder, we still have some K02 LE Standard and Extended kits in stock. They go out the same day if you order by 2 pm ET.

Thanks for your support!
George

Edit : Since it is July 4th weekend and you might want to support those who have served, I was a 2nd Lt. during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged as a Capt. in the US Air Force. But, most of all, thanks to all the others who have served this great nation of ours. May God Bless America.

Thanks for your service George. Like you I was USAF during the Vietnam era, ran to enlist instead of being drafted. Completed basic, two months of OT hold then 3 months of OCS. Served 10 years active, separating as a Capt. and though I was discharged but was inactive reserve. I voluntarily entered active reserve after 10 years and 3 months later was called up for Desert Storm. Made Maj. out of that, although did nothing but froze over in the UK where we had a contingency hospital set up. After 7 years in active reserve I was separated because I could not make full Col. It seems as though the USAF had a policy that an officer that did not make Col by the 27 year mark had to be separated. That ten years of inactive reserve still counted for longevity and got me there. I knew several others, mostly medical personnel that had the same treatment.

Is there a discussion about the front bar on the k02 being uneven side to side and how to fix this? I have attempted to fix this several(many) times and end up making it worse. My issue is getting the front ring, the back large knob, and the front bolt that holds the bar on all tightened correctly, all this while trying to keep the bar level with the t-dent.....as you try and tighten the front bolt it will inevitably tilt the bar and little....and that's enough to produce an uneven bevel. I cut a block to hold the bar level but that was not accurate enough. I am at a loss as to how to get the bar level. Any Ideas??? Thanks

Based on what you wrote, it would seem that the bar rotates slightly when you tighten it down and that the block isn't adjustable. Would it be possible to: 1. Place the block on the right side (as you face the sharpener) 2. Shim the block so it is the precise height needed when you tighten the front bolt against the block so that the bar does not rotate further 3. Torque the bolt to the appropriate tightness

If you have already tried this, I apologize.

Hi States, Yeah that is my method and it is still untrue, in addition to that method if you dont get the t-dent to stay put it can slip and that also causes an untrue bar. There are so many variables to get right I am wondering how they set it in the factory.... I am not even sure how that bar/nut came loose but the machine is unusable as it sits.

I didn't have to much trouble setting mine at all,if you are not tightening down the D-tent before trying to tighten your crossbar that's your problem.
What I did was tighten the knob up about 3/4's tight then I tightened the front nut on the crossbar just enough so it wouldn't move but so I could still move it at the same time and when I got the crossbar where I wanted it I just tightened the nut up and then I was done,I adjust the block where you put the angle cube on last.

Dear friends and customers,
The next shipment of K02 and K03 Wranglerstar kits + accessories is well on the way. Our ETA, for now, is the third week of July. If you've been waiting to place your orders, now would be a good time.

For those traveling and on vacation, may you have a fun-filled, restful but most of all, safe time!

George

The stability of the ko2 is amazing. I feel more confident in getting an amazingly sharp angle compared to the kme. But on the kme, I feel like I have more options

I feel it's quite the opposite by a mile. The selection of stones for the KO2 is almost endless. A million 1" or 1/2" wide. From tiny blades to giant blades. Definitely not all possible with KME

What people forget is a knifes blade is not straight and you have to remember the the tip on a knife curve's and there for when you get to that section of the blade you are sharpening in a different line so to speak.

I also noticed that on both edges, I'm getting much wider angles. Watching this video suggests that the angle doesn't change but seems contradictive based on bevels I'm getting on both ends of the knife.

Wade is right, but I might add, the cross section of a knife changes from heel to tip. The change in the angle of that cross section will cause a different bevel width as a result, even though the actual apex angle remains constant (or nearly so).

On most knives the change is only apparent with ridiculously low angles and wide bevels. I sharpened a 12" Bowie at a 21° and I noticed a half degree difference between the belly and the tip.

Yes I did, I got rid of of my KO2 and bought a Wicked Edge pro Pack III and have not looked back. Perfect polished bevels every time with a clamping system that actually works with a FFG knife.

And a company that actually has customer support. I asked Paul for a replacement clamp and he sent me a link on how to adjust the clamp which I had already done and did not work. In all fairness this was prior to the US distributors. Do your self a favor and get rid of it and move on.
