Wife started looking at knives after she saw I bought my Sebenza 21 on Friday. She came across a WE knife that she really likes in purple titanium and s35vn blade. I have zero experience with these knives. I looked them up and see they are a Chinese company. So is quality an issue? Its a $200 knife and would like to know if we knives are in fact worthy of that price or not. Thank you.

WE knives makes nice products with very good fit and finish. Don't think of it as a Chinese company, think of it as a knife company run by knife guys that happens to be in China (because that's where they are from. Love of knives knows no boundaries). They have a subforum here, take a look.

I have purchased 6 WE’s within the last year.
All have arrived with perfect fit, finish & function. All are worth the money I paid.
I have paid much more money for much less knife many, many times before.
WE is an outstanding value for the money invested. Congrats, You have stumbled into a winner brand, enjoy.

I am definitely a WE knife fan. And you don’t have to worry about quality. I have bought dozens of them and never once had a quality issues. Every one has been absolutely great! I will admit I was very hesitant to purchase my first one for the same reason as you.

Perfect answer!

Their knives don’t appeal to me aesthetically, but I do appreciate and respect what they are doing. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things. :)

WE is an excellent company. The F&F on the examples I’ve handled have been stellar. Detent, action, grind symmetry, etc. have been damn near perfect.

You won’t be disappointed with the quality. WE and Reate, two Chinese manufacturers, have some of the best finished knives I’ve ever handled.

This was my first "expensive" knife (Ray Laconico Keen made by WE), and it still influences how I evaluate the relative prices of other knives. With impeccable machining on an S35VN titanium framelock for $150, it sets a pretty high bar in terms of what to expect for your money.

Every WE-made knife I've owned has been flawless, including knives from their budget CIVIVI brand. They all rival or exceed more expensive knives I've owned, and fit, finish, and function are all fantastic.

Over the past few years they've become a brand I count on because the proof is in the pudding.

WE is the first Chinese company I heard of that made high end knives. So far, I’ve owned 1 that I traded for and I still have a Civivi that is made by WE. Both knives were incredible. The WE was built solid, and the action was smooth.
