Tell me about WE knives please.

WE is good to go and gets my thumb's up. I had/have the WE Pleroma and never seen a more ingenious sweeter integral knife. The fit and finish and quality matches it's innovativeness. Heard nothing but good things from customers and have tried 3 or so Civivi which is their budget friendly line and that one is above normal in terms of quality and value. "WE" live in good times to have such options to choose from in knives.

This was my first "expensive" knife (Ray Laconico Keen made by WE), and it still influences how I evaluate the relative prices of other knives. With impeccable machining on an S35VN titanium framelock for $150, it sets a pretty high bar in terms of what to expect for your money.

I've owned MANY folders, a whole bunch of them, and this is the exact one that I carry every day. For the $150 that
it used to run on (mass)DROP, it's a winner.
The spine is thick enuf for heavy work, and the edge is very thin behind the edge...cuts like nobody's business.
Never had a knife that cut this well, and yet has a relatively thick spine. I love it, and Ray Laconico is
Numero Uno in my mind...
I've had folders for $750 that were terrible, and many, many Spydies that are super nice, but I carry this one.

We knives is one of the reasons why many companies have had to step their game up. They have made a largely positive impact in the knife world which is always great to see.

I’ll always try to buy American but WE knives kills a lot of other companies when it comes to fit and finish.

The only thing about companies like we and reate, their designs can be way out there. Part of the reason I don't own any! The civivis I own are all more subdued, aside from the Plethiros. I never use it though, the ergos aren't great honestly. Excellent execution and amazing slicer though!

And I kind of lied... I do have a reate, but it is a sharp by design Evo typhoon. Made by reate, and man is it slick!

Wife's 606d came yesterday. She let me play with it and I gotta say I'm very impressed. At its price point I was not expecting the fit and finish to be well perfect. But it is. Zero flaws in the finish on the knife and I took it apart 3 times to see if it would stay centered each time and it did. The action I expected to be just ok but its smooth, no gritty feeling or sound and smooth as a babies behind. How can these knives be sold for so cheap if this is the quality they are producing? To say I was shocked is a understatement.

My guess is modern machine tooling combined with substandard wages and no benefits, subsidized by the chicom government explains the price point.

I used to have less issue with China products. Today, there's no way I'd buy a knife made there. Some things I can't avoid, but with knives being a totally superfulous purchase (I've got plenty already)....no matter how good they are....china = no buy.
Ok I didn't ask who will or won't buy them or for political point of views. I only asked about the product. You had nothing to add to my thread but felt the need to post anyway. Interesting.

I didn't ask.
The thread title says “ tell me about we knives please”
I responded by telling you all you need to know. WE knives are made in China.

The Tupperware that I put my leftovers in are made in China. I’m ok with that. The knife that I carry with pride everyday is made in the USA.

I asked about the product not your personal feelings on origin of manufacturing. My money ill spend it as I wish. The fact you have some kind of emotion about that is a bit disturbing.
