Tell me why I should or should not get a military.

Pic time!

Thanks for all the great comments guys. I really appreciate it. I am just now waiting for my gold membership to switch over so I can sell a few items to help fund the purchase.

More Pics please!

I have 6 of them in different Steels and Scales but they are all Safe Queens as I carry either my DelicaZDP189 or one of my
Para's ! Really like the Military ~ just don't remember why I don't carry one.! Guess it can't beat what I do carry.*?

Only you can decide what's important to you. As for the Military:

1. It's a large knife. That can be either a plus or a minus, depending on your tastes, the amount of pocket space you're willing to donate to a knife, your place of residence, and desire to comply with its laws and those of places you plan to visit.

2. It's a very light knife for its size. That's a negative if you equate weight with strength, a potential positive if you don't.

3. It has a handed lock. That's ok if you assume you'll never have to operate your knife with your "off side" hand, otherwise, it can be a negative.

4. It's set up for tip down carry only. Some like that, some see it as a negative.

5. It's not set up for discrete carry. In fact, it exposes more of itself than most other Spydercos.

6. It has a thick blade. Once again a two edged sword, a plus for tasks that require blade strength, a negative if you're looking for sheer slicing potential.

7. It's made in the USA. Important to some, less so to others.

As for me, I own a few, but they're all collectibles or trading stock. I prefer hand neutral locks, carry my EDC folder in the bottom of my back pocket, and value slicing ability over chopping power, so the Military just doesn't work for me.

The handle is too big (long). The S30V steel is a pain in the a/ to sharpen.

Too long for what? I'm not trying to negate your opinion, just asking if you could qualify it.

I do, however, have to respectfully disagree with your opinion on sharpening s30v. I find its a breeze to sharpen and takes and holds a very nice edge. Spydercos s30v is one of my favorite edc steels.

When I see people post that handles are too long on this and that, it's usually just a sense of aesthetics for them.
