The “Can’t leave anything alone” Thread

Man the 21 looks sharp brother. Really nice work. Love the modded CRK's you own. Your the one that inspired me to have my insingo done.

Thanks SPD,

Modding 21’s makes them “ours”, and definitely more personal. :) Hope all is well with you.

Cool mods in this thread. I kind of stop at adding a sharpening choil to some of mine that I feel need it. Not a fan of them catching on what I am cutting though and for most it really limits any chance of reselling the knife even when done really well. (I have a good bit of machining an metalwork experience but to most buyers it still is a negative)

Odd man out, here, I guess.

If I don't like it as it came from the factory, I don't buy it in the first place.

Hmmm...bunch of great modding posts, keeping in theme with the thread title...then a random opinion post?
I dont mind opinions on mods...but this isnt the thread for it. Please and thank you. :)

Also, opinion:Totally fine to not want to mod.
You could always start a new thread. :)

Here's another modded knife I bought "as is" on the Exchange a while back. Somewhat unfortunately, it's more like "as was" at this point as I sold it about a year-and-a-half ago to fund another purchase. I get a little sad when I see or post pics of it now as it's a beautiful piece, but I've tended the last couple years to divest myself of drawer queens after I've had them for a while, figuring I've enjoyed having and handling them, but they essentially just sit there and hold value that could be invested in knives that I'd actually carry and use. I find myself more able to not get upset about wear on expensive knives as a lot of the joy of ownership is in their use and being able to reach in my pocket for a beautiful, well-crafted tool.

Anyway, this is a Shirogorov Tabargan, the 100NS with blue-anodized Ti and an M390 blade that was made with 3D G10 scales and backspacer. The original owner commissioned the marbled CF components from a scalemaker who shall remain nameless as he followed others of that vocation in destroying his reputation by not delivering product as promised. This knife was just too pretty-perfect to use and was eventually replaced by another Tabargan in 440C with 2D coarse G10 scales that's a regular work user. Miss the older beauty, yeah, but its more modest replacement is a favorite that comes along with me often.

...and my pictures below of my current, old school Tabargan, un-modded with simple materials. This one just suits me better. Oddly, I traded cash and a PJ Sebenza for it in a deal with the guy that bought my modded Tabargan a year earlier. He bought two other 100NS knives to replace the one he got from me after he sold it, dealt me this one, and sent the other out to be modded to match my original customized one. This knife game can certainly get convoluted.

This hobby involves not just "can't leave anything alone", but "can't leave anything where it is" either.

the slim is actually a pleasure to carry now, still surprised when I pick it up how light it is.
