Someone somewhere said that Olamic does this with an acid quench, but I don't know how that would work.

I managed to change out the scales on this GENESIS. Came out OK for a first attempt.
Learned some things - needed some more precision tooling than my standard woodworking stuff.

I'm customizing my Jim Burke Production Rockstar. It's work in progress so I'll eventually post some pics of the finished product but I'm in the process of doing a "sterilized" / no logo blade..."chiseled" perimeter around the scales...then I'm going to lightly sand and darken them...and finally, I'm polishing the hardware...a few pics of the current state...

Ive removed the spike. Add serrations. Yesterday I modified the overall shape to the blade.
