The “Can’t leave anything alone” Thread

Holy hell these knives look a bit better imo; installed some marbled CF scales from Sharp Dressed Knives this pm on my 0640 and 0393. These scales are impeccably well made.

Here is the 0393: While those glow in the dark CF scales are cool and look good, these smoke em'.

Pure knife porn! Got some raw titanium hardware and clips coming for these two, can't wait!

I used some fine grit sandpaper to take most of the black coating off the blade. I left the blade in place and will take the knife apart later to do a more thorough job. Haven't decided yet but I may swap out the Sand colored scales for different ones. Actually, it doesn't look too bad as is as I kinda like the distressed look of the blade - patina look on a stainless blade.

Anodized the scales on my Sebenza bronze, and then stonewashed them. I might hit it with another bronze ano over top to see what it looks like, but for now I'm happy with it as is. I also bronzed the hardware on my gas stove. I left the lanyard pin blue to tie in with the thumbstud. While I was at it, I re-anodized the backspacer with a random blue/bronze pattern by using fingernail polish and then dipping it in wink, followed by removing the polish and anodizing it bronze. All in all I'm quite pleased with the results, especially given my lack of experience. I plan on this being a user, and I wanted something just beyond PJ to make it my own that would also age well. The lanyard could be a bit better, but it'll have to do for know because that's the leather I had and it was too thick to fit in the pin so I had to cut it in half.

Another small project from a few days ago was putting a satin finish on my Case Barlow using 220 grit. I'm not sure how well it shows in the picture but I was really happy with the results (my first attempt at this ever), and I like it much better than the factory polish. Now it's much less of a fingerprint magnet, and as a bonus I can now take pics of it without seeing Sony backwards and the reflection of a strikingly handsome fellow with an exceptionally luxuriant beard in the image :D. I did the blades as well. I think I'm going to do this with more of my Case knives going forward.

Wow!!! Folks, so sorry for being away from my thread for so long!! Lot’s of great mods here.

Well, being away from the thread does not mean I was idle. Haha. First up...
I decided to de-flipper my AB iMamba. Also got rid of the ballbearings for PB washers as I am not a fan of bearings, no matter how smooth. It still finger flips like a champ, and is as smooth as a CRK with zero play. Very happy with this one.

Second was my Spyderco PITS folder...it is a Mike Reed design and a modified slipjoint. For the life of me, I cannot understand why there was a guard that protruded like a “flipper tab,” when it couldnt function as a flipper. So off that went. Lol.
I also blasted inside the holes and the scale edges.

Next up is my ShamWEri...this is a great little production front flipper based on Gareth Bull’s design.

With this one, I had a friend engrave the pivot collar-overtravel stop with a revolver cylinder with one casing in it. He also engraved a “smoking barrel” on the pocket clip.
I decided to distress the edges of the scales and then ano them bronze. The screws were also heat colored bronze. Im not sure if I’m done with this yet, as I am toying with the idea of also bronzing the pocket clip.

WValtakis WValtakis your engraving skills never cease to amaze! Way to take on that CPK sword.
Looking great!!

Decided to polish the flats. Also, made some Shiro bits in brass.

Love those bits...brass even. The polished flats look great!! Love a little contrast. :)

WIP from this morning.

It's my first shield inlay.

Looks dang good for your first, Josh. I like it! You’ll be ripping inlay shields like a champ in no time!

Yes!! Ed, so good to see you posting here. :)
Nothing beats a beautiful beat up blade...you just sped the process up. :) Excellent.

You did a great job on your Sebenza! I’m also a huge fan of bronze HC and Ano. Excellent, excellent mod.
