the dye covered up my uh, misadventure well.
Now what to do?
I was going to use the acetone to do some random smudge work.
Instead I decided to 'distress' the corners:



Using an emory sander thingy, I hit the corners and flats just enough to bring out some color.
I think I like it.
If not, I can always boil it again!

These are

sure! It’s a friction folder on PB washers so you can set it pretty tight and still have it open smooth. The Copper back spacer acts as the blade stop in both directions. I started building these a few years ago with the Gen 1 which was laminated G10 all hand made:

Gen 2 was a CNC’d Micarta laminated version with a G10 backspacer:

Gen 3 is a complete screw together model with a Copper backspacer, these are very popular:

Mr Wells beat me to the Liner lock version so I’ll have to step it up for the Gen 4, maybe a TI frame lock with a Micarta or Carbon Fiber show side

So I had sold my original Buck Bladeforums knife as the thick edges weren't cutting it for me As this one is a gift I'm gonna be keeping I had no hesitation taking it from .035"bte down to a nice slicey .010"bte

I finally got a power supply for anodizing. Running out of stuff to mess with!

Just a basic one color on the alpha beast

And then got some faux channel spacers for the replicant and did the spacer a deep bronze

Picked up a new ZT 0640 this morning from the local blade shop, as well as a second Piranha Amazon. Started checking the parts bin and found some spare titanium standoffs that matched the originals width perfectly. Swapped out. Also tuned and centered the blade, it came off center in the box new. Also found that on the Amazon the thread hole offset for the clip is the same as a Benchmade. Decided to toss a deep carry satin clip on it. There is a fish on the show side, butterfly on the clip... at least the thing sits slightly more deep in the pocket.

Wasatch, FYI the Benchmade bugout clip fits the ZT 0640. This way if you want a deep carry clip that doesn’t take up a lot of handle space you are set.
