Very nice. I like. Can you extend the swedge out closer to the tip? Either way i like it!Always had a love-hate relationship with the ZT0562, loving the handle and the slicer grind (and of course the action) but not really connecting with the overall blade design.
Fast forward:

Thanks! I'm not messing anymore with it since i've brought this to a design that i really like.Very nice. I like. Can you extend the swedge out closer to the tip? Either way i like it!
I see what you mean about Two-Sun "banging this one out".I had to fix up this SixLeaf SL-35. While TwoSun usually does a decent job, their budget brand is more of a mixed bag. Despite already using budget materials, it really feels like they just banged this one out. The scale fit isn't great. The action came dirty and gritty. The way that edge terminated...
Cleaning up the action was easy. Strangely, this one runs its bearings against steel washers set against the steel liners. The misfit was minor so I was reluctant to mess around with fitting the scales to the liners. However, I did go around the parts that interface with the hand and soften the ergonomics. It's much more comfortable now. The big thing was clearing the plunge with a large enough sharpening choil.

Thanks for all of the info., it's appreciated.
That's a really good ideaI got tired of my new acquisition turning sideways in my pocket, so I made some alterations.

Now it rides a little easier and I don't have to fish around to find it.
Hey Wilfred, is there any way u could message me. ThanksI still have the knife.
Only paid members have access to private messages. Only $10 per year for a basic membership, so it’s worth the minimal expense.Hey Wilfred, is there any way u could message me. Thanks
Danke! It's pretty easy to carry these big Okapis when they stay vertical in your pocket, but once they turn sideways it's just too bulky and uncomfortable (for me, at least). I do the same thing with my Douk Douks. That's a really good idea
This was explained back in Feb in post 1661.Hey Wilfred, is there any way u could message me. Thanks
I'm a big fan of modded production knives. The below Boker Mini Kwaiken and ZT 0450 had regrinds by Josh of Razor Edge Knives and aged micarta scales made by the infamous Steve Ketchen:

To me, even when the costs of the mods exceed the price of the knife itself, it's justifiable when you really, really like that particular knife and there simply isn't something else in "stock" form that could replace it for you. This is especially true with mods that dramatically increase the actual usefulness of the knife as a tool, like Josh's regrinds.
A few more while we're at it:

Spyderco Roadie with regrind by Josh (which turned it into the closest thing I have to a scalpel):

Sometimes the modding can get a little freaky. This particular one was a Chinese clone of a RAD Knives Field Cleaver that was completely reshaped (blade chopped down and handle shortened and reshaped), with a micarta scale, then re-tapped for a deep carry clip:
