Okay, so keeping with my one in, one out policy, and being grateful for the win in Jack's Zuava giveaway, here's mine.

Since I don't have that many knives left after all my downsizing, my old boy scout hatchet is up for grabs. This is the "official" Plumb brand hatchet, in good shape, that I had when we were tramping the woods with Mr. Van. I haven't used it in many years, and I'm not getting any younger. It was last sharpened by a knife making friend here in Maryland named Bill Moran, used a few time since then as a kindling hatchet, then put up. The original sheath has long since degraded away some 30 years ago. The head is still tight, and handle sound with no splits. It's ready to work. Most of the black finish is worn away, but you can still see the boy scout logo plain.

Also going as a side bonus, is a Victorinox nylon scaled bantam. The bantam is a grate minimalist SAK. This give away is open to anyone with 50 posts in the traditional forum, no matter where you are in the world. I'll keep it open until next Saturday. Good luck to all.

Wow what a great gaw. I have read all your stories and to have a chance at owning and using a piece of thoes stories is awsome. Im in thanks for the chance and goodluck to all and than you for sharing your life experiences with us all

Hard to keep up with all these giveaways, this is such a generous place :) Carl, you give us so much here. That hatchet is beautiful, and so rich in history, I'm sure whoever it goes to will treasure it. I'm tempted, but I've been very lucky myself lately, and were I to be lucky again, the cost of shipping that beauty to Yorkshire might be eye-watering! :D So, I'll pass with thanks my friend, already grateful for everything you've already given me and everyone else here, and secure in the knowledge that your old camp axe is sure to go to a good home :)

Thanks again Carl

Jack

Jackknife, I'm a long time fan of your tales, this is an amazingly generous giveaway, I can't begin to explain how happy I would be to win this small piece of the life you've lived and the things you have seen. I'm in, and thankyou for all that you have done for this forum.

I'd be honored for a chance at this one. After years of reading your tales about your time with Mr. Van and the Scouts, it'd be amazing to own a piece of that history! Thank you for the wonderful gesture, Carl, and for all you add to our little corner of the internet!

That is a beautiful hatchet. Thanks for an awesome giveaway jackknife. However I have no use for a hatchet here in Singapore so I'll pass and leave this one to those who will do it justice by putting it to good use.

I would love a chance at the old Scout hatchet - count me in sir - I would care for it with great fondness - and this is a mighty generous offer - I might add!!!:)

I have enjoyed reading all of your great writings.

Thanks for a shot at that great scout hatchet! I could use one and will put it to good use.

Dave

This is not an entry.

This is a very generous gesture and thanks for that.

That little hatchet is nice indeed.

Postage to South Africa will be very expensive , and, the chances are 99% that the parcel will be "lost" that is stolen in our postal system, we have degenerated into a third (fourth) world country after all.

Good luck to the fortunate winner

Cheers.

Winning that hatchet would be like owning a piece of traditional history from your writings.
I'm definitely in and thank you sir.

Awesome GAW. Not an entry - I'm trying to downsize as well, but both fantastic gifts! Thanks for doing this!

Count me in! Always wanted one of those hatchets way back when I was a Scout, now I have 2 boys that are Boy Scouts. That hatchet would be a cool legacy to hand over to them.
