The 2 for 1 grateful giveaway. Winner!

Not an entry...I'm afraid I wouldn't give it the use it deserves.

I just wanted to say what a great and selfless giveaway I think this is. And I hope the winner will enjoy adding to that great hatchet's life experiences.

Wow that is really awesome and very generous. Sharpened by Bill Moran too, now how many people could say that about their hatchet! very nice GAW please count me in!

Great giveaway and what a wonderfully gesture. and thank you for the chance. Good luck to everyone.

My son spent his middle school and high school years reading and delighting in your tales of Mr. Van, the Liar's Club, the Rankins, trapper Bill, the school witch, the hermit on the swamp, and your other fine characters and stories. I've seen him tense up and then laugh out loud as Mr. Van shot the cigarette, or stropped his Remington Scout knife quietly on his boot tip in preparation for the fuzzy-stick making-contest. It would be an honor to keep this hatchet on his behalf (he's in college now), and pass it along to him when he graduates and gets a place of his own.

At the GEC Rendezvous, I thanked Charlie again for generously giving my son a small S&M Scout knife several years ago. It is a beautiful knife, which my son used camping in Scouts. He also whittled ball & cages and chains with it. He did earn Eagle a couple of years after that. This hatchet would make a fine companion piece for that knife--and would be priceless to us both because it was used by the legendary jackknife, and possibly even handled by Mr. Van himself

CARL....Wonderful giveaway...as a proponent of all things Boy scout, i would like to throw my hat in.......Thank you for the chance....Fes

I just today returned from a camping trip with the family. During the trip, I realized the Eastman hatchet just won't work for the kind of carving I find myself doing more and more. Your old hatchet has borne many stories, and I'd love to give it the chance to write a few more.

I'm in. Thanks for all you contribute.

Please include me in this chance at such a nice little hatchet .
with its history as Carl's and its usefulness as a "carry in the woods" size , I would proudly and happily use in in my woods.
Thank you sir for hosting such a generous giveaway and for all your great stories as well , you provide a unique contribution that is very much appreciated by myself and many many others here!!!

Can't pass this up. I'm in. Really like that hatchet. If i win will do a knife and hatchet GAW of my own .Thanks.

What a wonderful GAW. Neat that it was sharpened by Bill Moran. I would love to gift this to my son who is a Scout and just returned from Philmont.

Thanks very much for your contributions, humour and knowledge.

Not an entry mind as the postal costs would put you on bread & water for a month:eek::eek::D Also, just bought a new Swedish hatchet for our long dark winter.

Thanks, Will

I'd like to throw my hat in on this one. I would feel like I owned a piece of history. I need a good hatchet also, all I have is a metal handle, cheapy job. Thanks for the generosity Carl!

Wow, Carl!

No way could I pass this up. Like someone else said, it would make it like being there with you and Mr. Van.

Are you any closer to publishing your material?

That's a nice looking hatchet there, I'd like to be in on this GAW for sure. However, if I am picked, feel free to give the Bantam to another entry, already have one in alox!

Thanks for the chance jackknife, very generous.
