Zaph1 was that your choice not to be in the newbie KITH? I think that would be strange if they wouldn't let you join in... you would think the better knife a new maker can make the more that would join in, be it knife 11 or 99 who cares?

zaph/Charlie - send geek an email and tell him which KITH you are entering.I suggest this one. For most people, knife 11 is still a newbie.

I figured seeing as its my first I will try here this year. I posted up in the Christmas KITH before this one existed. Just want to make sure my gear is up to standard.

I'm in and will make a knife by Dec. 1st.. !!!!

Cool. I am kind of sad becuase, with the level of people entering this year, someone is going to be slightly disappointed with mine .

It just forces you to do better. Focus on each detail and produce the best knife you can, when stumped ask and someone will jump in and get you pointed in the right direction again.

I think this KITH will bring out the best in the new makers... we will probably be pickier and stress over every little scratch that much more... we will try and be more innovative... try and do something different or even out of our comfort zone... We will constantly think "my knife isn't good enough for this it has to be better!" and that in turn will produce a better quality knife!

I've decided on my model and will be making 3 of them. The best fit and finish of the 3 will be submitted to the KITH
