The 80's!! Anyone remember knives from the 80's??

^^Wow, that looks just like AG Russell's "One Hand Knife" locking set up. Didn't know anyone else used it.

Those AG Russell knives were first released in 1986, so if you have an early example it's likely an "80s Knife."
The top knife in this picture.

Pat Crawford's Framelock, not my picture but identical to my knife, ('cept mine's more pocket worn).

I have the exact same knife around here somewhere, it was one of my first buys after catching the bug. It came with hand-drawn/lettered instruction sheet of some sort I think, I probably have that too. Thanks for the bit of history behind it.

If you can't tell in the picture, the blade is labeled "First Production, 1 of 200." That's the only way, as far as I can tell, to determine that it has an '80s production date.

Anyone with an A.G. Russell Sting? I remember the mall knife stores having those in their windows in the 80's.

No knife design says '1980's' to me more than the Normark Big Swede!

Not my photo:

The Buck 110 fits any decade.

The only knife I had back then was a Buck 110. Unfortunately, I don't know where that has gone, many, many moves later. Wish I still had that blade.

Boy I miss the stag that was used in the 80's. The beauty that was common then is rare now.

I dare you,
I might have one or two more. I also have a few old catalogs that are cool to look at, mostly from the 90's

My good 80's knives- Victorinox Driver, Huntsman, Swisschamp. Western Bowie. BlackJack Anaconda II, Zytel Folding Mamba.
Only have a pic of my Anaconda-

Old Timer knives are difficult to date, as changes in tang stamps and packaging had no strict release dates. But these are datable, a 1985 anniversary set.
