The Adventures of Pearl !!! Host list post's #22 and #23

Uh oh!!! Pearls on her way and she's all gussied up. Ready to paint the town red. She's going to have to cool her heels for a few days though since this is my horribly long weekend at work. I'll try to at least throw out the red carpet for her on her arrival!!!!:D

Well Pearl arrived early thankfully. I was hoping she would make it before my long weekend at work. Fortunately I was prepared with the red carpet. Dylan did an absolutely spectacular job of preparing her for her travels. Her new slip he made for her fits just perfect and she looks great in it. She is collecting postcards from her travels of which she will be traveling with. I believe she wants to collect some memories of her own!!!! It may be a few days before we get out to see this side of the world. We will check back in as soon as possible.IMG_4606.PNG IMG_4607.JPG

Dylan did have a great idea with the postcards. My wife and I will be sure to add to the collection. We are having a beautiful cool evening here in East Tennessee and decided to go out for a quick bike ride. While we were out we went by Cove Lake State Park which is where we got married and took a couple of quick photos before heading back to the house. I think Pearl wanted to carve her name in the boards with all the rest but it was getting dark so we will have to come back and do it another time. We will check back in the first of the week. Hope everybody has a great weekend.IMG_4618.PNG IMG_4619.PNG IMG_4620.PNG

You (and Pearl) are lucky to have that beautiful scenery so close to you.

Thank you John. My wife and I are blessed to live in a very beautiful part of the country. The pictures I posted are within five minutes of our house and you don't have to travel very far to get to one of the cleanest and prettiest lakes in East Tennessee which is Norris Lake. Also Pretty laid-back around here as we live in a fairly small community.

Back in '88 to '91, I lived in Clarksville. (I was not military :( ) How far are you from there?

I live in Jacksboro Tennessee which is about 3 1/2 hours east of Clarkesville at about the same latitude. Both are not far from the Kentucky border. I've never been to Clarkesville but from what I understand it's a very nice place.

The wife and I took Pearl out for another bike ride and sightseeing adventure yesterday evening. Unfortunately by the time we got out the sun was starting to set. It is now getting dark about a half hour earlier than it was just a couple of weeks ago. We took Pearl to an overlook of Norris Dam. From there you can see a small part of Norris Lake and where it begins to feed the Clinch River. The dam was built in 1936 as part of the TVA dam system. The water here is clean in comparison to a lot of lakes and from what I understand the fishing is quite good. And in talking to the local fishermen they have no reservations about eating the fish out of this lake. Next we drove down to the where the Clinch River begins. There is about a 4 to 6 foot tall mist coming off the water from where the cold water coming from under the dam meets the hot air. Unfortunately it was getting dark and the picture just doesn't quite show the beautiful affect it gives. We will try and do better about getting better pictures of our next adventure.IMG_4666.PNG IMG_4669.PNG

Great pictures Jerome.:thumbsup: When I was 12 my Grandfather was transferred to Knoxville I always spent time in the summer with them and my Grandfather would always take me camping and fishing at lake Norris. Man those were great times. I was looking and you are just about 150 miles from where I live in Asheville, NC.
Thanks for hosting the old gal I'm sure you guys will have a great time.

Randy, I'm glad to hear you got some great memories of this area. I've had the opportunity to travel some and I always look forward to coming back home to this area. We definitely need to get together in the near future. I really look forward to the opportunity to meet you and spend some quality time together. I think Pearl is having a good time but I think my wife is having a better time with all of this. She is really enjoying getting out and trying to find the right picture and wants to really be a part of everything that's going on. Pearls visit has really given us something to get excited about and enjoy together. I appreciate you putting this idea together and keeping it going from its origins. So much fun.

Pearl is chilling today excited about the beginning of the college football season. Happy to see College Game Day back on. Getting the juices going. Hoping the 20th anniversary of the Tennessee Vols last national championship is a good omen for the season to come with our new head coach. My wife and Pearl conspired on this pic!!!!IMG_4699.PNG

Lostball Lostball you are showing Pearl some mighty fine country. My wife and I passed through the first weekend of January 2017 in a snowstorm on our way to the OBX. Love the terrain.

Well that Saturday game didn't work out like we wanted it to!!! :( But at least they played 4 quarters.
Unfortunately I was unable to get out there and show Pearl the sites this weekend. Been battling some health issues here lately and I just didn't have the energy to get out. Didn't feel like doing anything but trying to get some rest so I could go back to work today. Fortunately so far things are quiet. Going to try to get out mid week and will hopefully check back in with something interesting. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day and a great week ahead.

Sorry folks for being so quiet with Pearl lately. The last little bit has been somewhat of a struggle between work and my health. Besides using my finger to push the " like" button for all of the great posts over the last couple weeks and a knife sale I have just not had the energy or opportunity to show Pearl around. I contacted the next person @neal70 to host Pearl and his schedule is pretty packed so we decided I would keep her just a little bit longer with the hopes of showing her our part of the world a little bit more. Pearl went with me to the doctors office and I meant to take a picture but that slipped my mind entirely. So far the good news is the EKG was OK and the PFT was acceptable. Hopefully the bloodwork will shed some light on things. Perhaps old age has just finally caught up with me!!!
Today has been the best day I've had in a while and the wife and I got the steel horse out for a little while to share our beautiful area with Pearl. We visited one of our many marinas today to grab a bite to eat. We live in a valley surrounded by a mountain range which includes Norris lake which we are also pretty much surrounded by. Our hopes were to also make it to Mccloud Mountain which would have given an overview of our entire area but the remnants of Florence are starting to move in and the rain forced us home. I think deep down Pearl is a biker girl!!! :cool:IMG_4803.JPG IMG_4805.JPG IMG_4804.JPG IMG_4802.JPG
