The Adventures of Pearl !!! Host list post's #22 and #23

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that puts chips on my sandwich Mark.:D
I found this picture of Pearl from a few years ago before r8shell r8shell gave her a traveling make over. I must say the old girl looks a lot better these days Rachel made her
"plumb purty" as we say down south here. :D

Thanks guys.
Had another day of work with Pearl along for the ride. A job to do in Bellevue, (Nebraska) so we swung by one of the most important military bases in the world. StratCom- Offutt Air Force Base. Home of the 55th wing- The Fightin' 55th. It used to be called SAC or Strategic Air Command, but was renamed StratCom in 1992.

Then on to an uninspired lunch- on the run, as usual...

A couple more jobs done and I find myself at the place I love. Home. With the ones I love.
Time to relax. It's Friday. Life is good.:)
Hope everyone has an exceptional weekend.

Me, too. I like my sandwiches salty and crunchy. :D
Great pictures, Ramrodmb Ramrodmb .

I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I showed my mother this thread the last time she visited, and she was very impressed. I think she called it conceptual performance art, and loved seeing the contrasts in lifestyles and places represented. From big cities to syrup farms to bayous, and Pearl hasn't even started her international travels. :)

Thanks Mark for taking us along with Pearl. Very cool base which I will now research and see what I can find out about SratCom. Pearl is looking fine. :)

Couldn't agree more Randy. Pearl is one of a kind thanks to Rachel. A well travelled sophisticate but what I like most is she's never let it go to her head. What a doll.

That’s such a great way to put it. So true.

I’ve immensely enjoyed living vicariously through the variety of experiences that Pearl has had and getting a glimpse into to the lives and locales of her hosts. Getting to show her around my neck of the woods was pretty fun, too. :)

Thanks guys.

Thanks for the update Mark
You bet, John.

Hope you and Pearl have a great weekend Mark
Thanks Jack. Same to you, my friend!

Glad to see the old girl has landed safely Mark. I was trying to remember when and where I got her and I think it was The Practical Outdoorsman I posted pictures of at the beginning of her trip.
Thanks, Randy. That looks like quite a store.

Nice to see Pearl on the move again! :D Good stuff so far, Mark!

I was looking back at the host list(s) on page 2, and it looks like Pearl may be traveling internationally soon!
Thanks, Barrett! I recently went back through this thread to re read it and noticed veitsi_poika veitsi_poika expressed interest in showing Pearl around Wisconsin. Maybe one last stop stateside before heading across the pond? What do you think r redden r redden ?

Totally agree, Randy. r8shell r8shell fixed her up right nicely.

We had plans to do some running around today and this weekend, and woke up to a surprise freezing rain/snow mix this morning! After a short trip to the Post Office it was clear it would be an inside day.
Later this evening, I was able to brave the 20 mph wind long enough to turn the outside table, on end, as a wind block to get some food grilled for supper. Pearl was with me the whole day but just served as eye candy today.;)

Glad to see pearl out and about again. Man, between the wine, bacon wrapped asparagus, steals ans whatever that is on the right, yoir making me hungry!

I really need to come to your house Mark YUM!!! All of that looks good but that asparagus just made me go for a snack. :D:D
Randy, you are welcome any time, my friend! Asparagus is one of my wife's favorites. (I like it too) We try to grill our food almost everyday, if possible, even through the winter, and grilled veggies are a favorite.

Thanks, SVT! Pinot noir, King of sirloin fillets, sweet peppers, asparagus and jalapeno poppers on the right!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I thought that was poppers. Guy here makes them using the little sweet peppers. He dices the jalepoenes and bacon, mixed with the cream cheese and stuffs the little sweets. Then bakes or grills them. You talk about good.

That sounds good! I'm going to try that.

Thanks for welcoming Pearl to your world, Mark, and for sharing some of your time together with us!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for following along and for the encouraging words, GT!

Seems like we are snowed in this weekend with about another 8 inches this morning... on top of a treacherous coating of freezing rain turned to ice and 4 inches from yesterday.

So, I thought I would show Pearl around 'the compound'. We joke about calling it that after installing a 6 foot privacy fence around the whole backyard when we added a small above ground pool a few years ago. :)

Here's the view from the back deck this morning.

Looks like you've had some pretty good snowfall there, Mark. Good news is, Pearl already knows her way around a snow shovel. :D

"The Compound" - I like that! ;)
I think I'm getting hit by the same massive system that's giving you that freezing rain and snow, Mark, but it has been all rain the past two days here. I don't envy you and your beautiful snow!
I DO like that view from the back deck, though!:thumbsup: Is that your "pool deck" with the curving staircase? That looks great! :):thumbsup:

If Pearl gets a little homesick it may be because she's heard a weather report from home it was 69 and sunny here today and it's 52 right now. It might be a good idea to keep her away from the weather channel. :D:D
