The All Stag and Ivory Buck Thread (Let's See Your Stag & Ivory Buck Knives)

JB, now that's a sweet pair of 112s... ... and what a collection of Stag and ivory Buck Knives you have...
I don't have any stag or ivory 112s... :( ... But I hope to find one or two someday... :)

Stumps, that's a very nice 4 dot 110... ... The pictures did do the talking for sure...
Boy... I have to say your collection of 110s and 112s are sweet...

PLB, now that's a sweet one for sure... and I know you have more Beautiful Buck Knives... I hope you share a few more...

Sweet.......................... ..................................

You can send that AZ 500 to me... It doesn't go with all those Beautiful 112s... ;)

LOL, I thought about not posting that image as the Duke 500 had no stag. The image is an old scan taken to show the size of the 112 & 500 side by side. That scan is the best color representation of what the 112s scales really look like. So I just had to add the image here. I bet if you look in your bag of trix, you will find a stag 112 you don't remember having;).

jb don't think I've ever seen a nicer pair of 112's, drop point, ns, stag NICE. I havn't gotten a 112 yet cause I don't care for the clip blade and prefer the ns bolsters.

Hi st8yd,

Those are both BCCI special order knives that were offered to club members. The BCCI has had a few of these DP knives made for it's members in both 112 & 110 knives. I hope they do a few more in the years to come!

I really like the 112's, but all these Bucks look good. Congrats and thanks to all you guys.

Armand…you have a super collection of fat stag handled 100 Series Buck knives!! You haven't posted one yet that I didn't like a lot.

JB…that is an EXCELLENT collection of stag 112's!! Very nice….thanks for sharing them!!

I have yet another 110 to post here today. This one is from 1994 and has a satin finish blade, brass bolster and no pins on some very nice stag!!

The nice thing about stag is no two are the same, there is always some characteristic from one to another that makes each knife unique. I know some folks will look at these knives and say they all look the same (that's my wife..."why would you want more than one like that"?). This thread shows some of those unique characteristic markers of each stag handled knife, some will be smooth and almost white, some will have a little color, some will have all those grooves, bumps, and color variations that make this natural material so special. Mark, thank you for starting this thread and I hope folks will enjoy it as much as I have been for years to come.

Here is a Buck fixed blade that's shape reminds me just a little of the Puma White Hunter's shape.

Before JB went Buffalo, you were doing 112s. Here is my only stag (ELK) handled 112. Notice in the lower rear corner how the knife craftsperson tapered the corner just a little to meet the depth of the elk horn groove.

Now here's a promo for BCCI. Some of you guys are so far away I can understand why you do not attend the Blade Show in Atlanta, GA.
Then to consider to display at a knife show takes desire to fix up a public display that meets a certain set of "rules" or set-ups. But, when you do both of those things, you may receive a display award. Buck (Joe) fixes up special knives for the Atlanta Blade show that those who attend vote to award members for their displays. The awards are usually presented by CJ or Chuck Buck at the BCCI annual meeting held on the last day of the show. I was lucky in 2012 and tied with Rusty for best "Production" display. The award was this nice engraved elk scale knife. The blade is mirror polished and I turned the knife to make the reflection black so you could see the engraving. I know you have seen the photos of the various knife shows and most all award a trophy or knife if your voted a winner. If any of that seems attractive to you please contact Larry, John or even myself and we will get you started out right so you won't have to make mistakes.. 300

Armand…I don't know if it's the cloud's reflection in the bolsters of your very nice stag 503 or what, but those photos really make your knife pop!! Thanks for risking yours fingers everyday by digging around in your boxes full of Buck knives looking for ones that are dressed in stag to help keep this thread going. (Whew…that was a looooong sentence) I always knew you had a fantastic collection of Buck knives, but I didn't know your collection of stag Bucks was so extensive!!..

JB…I agree with you about the design being similar to a White Hunter. You really took some nice photos to show this one off!! Thanks for continually adding more stag and ivory Buck knives each day!! :)

Craig….Rusty told me he felt sorry for you, so he left half his Buck Knives display at home that year to give you a chance for an award. :D
Thanks for the fine photos of the equally fine stag Buck knives!!

Okay…today's Buck Knife from me is a mastodon ivory 308 Canoe. I just recently acquired this one. I had never even held a regular production Buck Canoe in my hand, so I didn't know what to expect. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised…so much so that it will get pocket time when I have to get dressed up fancy like. This one is a little different than regular production ones. It has a fine Wharncliffe blade in S30V with Chuck Buck's signature and a spearpoint blade in 154CM. I really like the feel of the ivory too.

Very nice one Stump's, you out bid me on that one;).

Here is another 112, this is a WBC LE. I was not happy with the first one I was shipped as the stag was sub-par IMHO. So I returned it and Buck sent me a replacement.

Good morning everyone!! Time to post another stag 110. :)

JB….I think I woke up the next morning and was surprised I had won that one. I really do like it, so I'm glad you didn't bid $2.00 more. :p
I would say Buck did you right by that 112. It is a beauty!!

Armand…very nice dagger!! I don't have any of those.
I like the photo too the way it shows the stick tang build on a dagger. Thanks!!

Yep…another stag 110 from me today. This four dot has some interesting stag on it along with brass bolsters. The stag has two pins.

Nice 110 Mark, I love the stag on that one... ... JB, I like that WBC 112 you posted yesterday... SWEET ... ...

Here's a 110 with a Damascus blade I posted on the SPS show a few weeks ago... It's Sweet and needs to be on this thread too...

110...

:)

Okay Gals and Guys where are all the gnarly popcorn thick fatty deep grooves bumpy extra chubby and extra gnarly Stag Buck Knives at...

I guess they are... on this thread... We need more, more, more... :) ... Thanks for sharing everyone...

Hi All,

Mark & Armand, those are super nice 110's. I do like Raindrop DM and excellent colored stag. Also, bumpy, lumpy, with deep grooves and lots of color, would be my choice;).

Here is a double dip as this is the same post as the SPS.

Some of you folks may not know that Buck has recycled model numbers from time to time. An example of this is model number 919, the original model #919 belonged to the Apache Bowie, today the #919 belongs to Cabelas "Founder's" knife. The Founder's knives are a sweeping skinner design with a very thick blade. Today I will share the new 919. Also, just to name a few more recycled model numbers, the 110 and the 186.

919 blade next to a 110 blade

Armand, since you like'm all fat an chubby just send me that sorry slim 110 you just posted, as it doesn't fit your tastes. ;-)

All I can say is WOW! Y'all have some beauties. I only have two stag knives. One is a file knife I built but she ain't a Buck so I'll leave out the pic. The other is a 2 dot 112 I bought that had a little knub of a blade. So I rebladed with a 482 blade and replaced the scales with some whitetail deer antler that my uncle shot. I gave it to my nephew for his birthday.
