The Ash1 is timeless

I often clean a blade of with some isopropanol to get gunk and old lubricant off. Does a great job. Just hit it with some mineral oil right after (I keep a soaked shaving brush for this purpose - well I have several there are gun brushed, knife brushed and dry ones that are for dusting) and Bob's yer Uncle.

Andy

Ahhh.......thanx Andy!
Ill be sure to do just that. Thats sounds good....

Just as an aside. Ive used my ASH1 enough recently to where she wont even slice printer paper.
But Ill promise ya, just a few strokes on the SharpMaker using fine rods and she back to slicing phone book paper.
I really love this knife and steel.
Now I realize slicing phone book paper is no great feat by any means. But what I think is remarkable is the short amount of time it took to get her there.
Im talkin less than 2 minutes....
Actually I just checked and she's shaving sharp lol...

Hehehe.....so after some batonning of dried locust those spots have disappeared since last night...
After all the batonning, I cleaned her up with some dawn dishwashing liquid and after drying off I applied a little oil and after last night the spots are gone.
Pretty cool.
And I gotta say, this ASH1, is one helluva strong blade!

Yeah.
