The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

You could use an expensive broom handle. Or maybe a purpose built haft made of micarta or something, with rubber inlays and cool grip areas with like a pommel you can smack stuff with
Hmmm, somebody should reach out to Mecha. I wonder what the longest piece of round stock titanium is that could be had?

Nathan could mill the pocket for mounting the Shiv as well as a few slots for a little ECAM here, maybe a little Terotuf there……..you know, cuz he needs another project to do.

Or some nice Hickory. Some good wood anyway. Maybe they make broom handles stronger nowadays?
I think even the cheap ones are pretty decent hardwoods. Easy replacement is good though, I’m sure any handle would inevitably break and have to be replaced. I bet a titanium lacrosse stick would be pretty good.

He's not seriously suggesting a cheap (fragile) broom handle but I have been contemplating making Harrison some kind of a hiking pole with a surprise in the tip. Maybe start with a hickory shovel handle and hide a boot dagger in the tip?

After his dog bite he has taken to carrying a stick when he walks. A dog that has lost its shit will bite the end of the stick. Which would be perfect, if you had a 4 inch dagger in the tip you just feed it the tip.

That’s a great idea! Could you make about 50 extra of those daggers for a Friday sale? Please!

Hello all.
Regarding the shiv
I am post #178 in the shiv pre order page. This might be a long shot but thought I would ask anyways. I live in the country in chile and we were without power yesterday thus I missed the quick sell out.
If jo and Nathan are unable to acomódate would someone who ordered multiples be willing to allocate a spot to me.
Pretty please.
I cannot offer anything but hospitality if you travel to chile and good vibes.
Cheers

That would work pretty good.

So tempted on the double edge Shiv, but I don't know if that's because I really want the the CPK dagger.

On an unrelated note, how easy is it to take off the screws from the handle of the Shiv? I think I saw that threadlocker was used in another thread. I'd like to heat color the titanium myself, but don't want to damage anything taking screws off.
