The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

Gentlemen, I think you may be missing the point to some degree.

I was a good friend of the late Kit Carson. He and CRKT came to an arrangement to begin selling authorized versions of his Model 16 when they were not a big player in the market. (Far smaller and less well known than Boker.) It opened up a lot of eyes to his work, and...not unimportantly, put money in his family's accounts.

I have some Boker knives...kitchen as well as traditional and they can make a good knife, and they also make some mass market stuff.

But this is a big opportunity for Nate and Jo to get their brand out there even further than amongst us aficionados, and...they are running a business after all.

We may feel superior because of bragging rights regarding our collections. Nathan and Jo have a family to feed, and Pumpkin Ale to purchase.
I was with you 100% on this until I got to pumpkin ale. 😊

Seriously tho, I think this is a big deal and congrats to Nate & Jo! 🍻

I don't drink pumpkin ale, but I have a friend in Mooresville who does. I've learned to make allowances. (My wife is having pumpkin pie in a few minutes with coffee. I'm having pecan pie. And so it goes.)

Yeah, it's my understanding that every year they do a collaboration with a different knifemaker designer person and they reached out to me and wanted to produce the UF. We're getting on the same page about the steel etc but it looks like there's a lot of collectors for this line in Europe that are going to get introduced to the awesomeness that is CPK design. Cool huh?

_Very_ cool, Nathan, congrats ! Can you say which Boker ? I have a Boker Tree CPM Cruwear folder that is very good. Also, I‘ve seen some Boker Plus designs from Lorien Lorien .

Not surprised they like the UF, when it comes down to it, probably my favorite CPK.

That's awesome!

Man... with more exposure, Friday sales are going to get even rougher... 😓😂

... if you could have a Utility Fighter that has all of the geometry and balance right and in a good serviceable steel, at a price point that you could justify a few to keep in your glove box etc, doesn't that sound pretty reasonable? It will be good for the brand because it will help expand our audience into areas where people really have no other mechanism to have heard of us. ...and I have some college tuition coming up.

I understand the benefits of doing this. I’m sure it will be great for your business. I’m just saying I love CPK knives. I for the most part, am not interested in any other knives. For someone who hasn’t been as lucky to know and enjoy the beauty of D3V and CPK designs. I’m sure they will love a Boker CPK. I however am hooked on the real deal.

Love that UF news. Long overdue imo. There is a lot to emulate with your brand and its damn cool that one of the big boys caught on. I hope the process is easy and smooth for you! Get that name out there!

Side note. Can I get an axis lock on my cpk folder?

💋💋

I'm glad to hear you're working it out👍
we'll be Boker bros!

I hope this ends up being a fun and stress free venture for you.
Can Friday sales become more of a site crashing CF?
I guess we are going to find out once the world knows about these phenomenally awesome knives.
UF in Magnacut maybe?

Not if Friday sales are for 200+ knives 😉
Maybe the venture will allow Nathan to increase production of the worlds most precious resource, CPKFINIUM!

OK, I can see that. And yes I would!
