Nathan, how do you buff your scales? When I preordered my DEK3 back in December of '21 I was too much of a noob to know to order my antique edge cut micarta buffed. So if I receive my DEK3 in AECM and want to buff them on my own I won't botch it as bad as I would with no information.

If I am not mistaken, AECM usually comes as buffed from the mothership unless otherwise specified

#NotNTM, When you use it, it’ll “self buff” over time. The end result is awesome! 👍🏼👍🏼

A few years ago I had asked Jo on the subform what compound material they use when they buff their black micarta and Jo responded, "We use a black buffing compound from Jacksonlea". I don't know if they still use that make and if so what color compound is used for ECAM but that is the maker which Jo had stated in her post. If the answer which you seek is more about their actual buffing process since you had asked "how do you", then I wouldn't know.

Found this comment from a few years ago - no idea if the process is the same today though.

Buffed or not buffed, that is my question.

So this one is directed to you guys out there using buffed and unbuffed. Is the improvement in grip notable? The subjective nature of aesthetics leaves the argument of which one looks better up to us as individuals I suppose. Considering which FK handle to go with as a user. :) I'll...

We buff them on a buffer with buffing compound.

You can always return the scales to us and have us buff them for you for the cost of return postage.

Nathan, my wife would like to know if she pays full shipping both ways can she send me in for this service and be returned to her "buff"?

She also says if I don't meet CPK standards it's fine to throw me in the creek...

Anyhow, will it tickle?
 
Sorry if this has been all asked before (and it probably has, I just haven’t read all the thousands of posts here yet). Trying though… lol

Question on the Friday sales threads. Is the spot for any random 20 of what @Nathan the Machinist is selling? I.E. DEK 1, 2, 3, fighter etc…. For example
-20 DEK 1’s and it’s closed?
-10 DEK 2’s and 10 DEK 1’s, 0 fighters and it’s closed?
-19 fighters and 1 DEK 3 and it’s closed?

I’ll see that they are loooong past the 20 available posts (like on 40-60+) and then someone will jump in, even a day or 2 later and say something like “the fighter hasn’t been claimed, I’ll take it”, then a few more will chime in with what they want too lmao 🤣.

Just want to make sure I’m not missing any opportunity, as nobody I see typically chimes in to tell them it was closed previously and that they’re SOL.

20 knives sold and it’s closed. If Nathan only has 10 DEK1’s and all twenty people want DEK1’s, then ten people will be told to pick something else or pass.
