The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

The Shiro did teach me that bearings can be pretty durable in rough use and tolerate wet gritty dirty environments better than I would have thought they would. But I'm not going to go that direction at this time.

I'm going to use "washers" that are integrated into the hardened steel 3V frame. Because I personally don't want to have to worry about grit affecting the durability and longevity of my pocket knife. I'm pretty rough on stuff, and I'm building this for my own personal preferences.

The first time I took my first F95 apart I was pretty happy with the lack of dirt on the surfaces in there, I had just been periodically washing it with hot water, hand soap and a toothbrush under the tap. I didn’t try to lube it, just blew air through it to dry it out best as possible and put it back in my pocket, it always functioned nice and smooth. Screw taking those things apart often, they rarely need it from what I found.

I love your idea for the pivot mechanism being so few pieces, maintenance and worry about grit should be almost nonexistent!

Any thought toward spec'ing purple locktite on the screws on the (excellent) mashed cat sheaths?

(Also, recommended source for replacement screws, washers, etc for (excellent) mashed cat sheaths? -- asking for a friend)

Any idea when Magnacut EDCs might show up in Friday sales?

Oh shit!
That's supposed to be one of the options on the pre-order. I forgot!

They're going to be a while. We have to get them all done and heat treat them all at the same time so they're going to be at the very end of the production run.
