Bad THE BAD Will Moon

Was the knife received by your friend? my 801 was marked as shipped last Monday, but it is apparent that the postage was just purchased then as there hasn't been any tracking updates and obviously no knife has arrived yet. Kind of a disappointing thing to do, telling everyone there stuff is shipping out, buying the postage to confirm it to them, and then not actually putting the knives in the mail.
 
I talked to him about that, apparently he's been really busy with his senior thesis for the past week.
 
Come on Will, pull your head out bud. I know you hate waiting for your knife making equipment. Its so damn easy to go that extra lil mile to make us happy dude. Crap like this pisses me off to no end. If you pay for shipping and seal it up simply call for a damn pick up and stop pissing the buyer off brother.

So many other makers MAKE TIME to ship. I'm sure school is busy, but thats not the customers issue nor problem. Take the extra 15-30 minutes and go by the post office after you say its shipped.

Just for the record, this is the kind of stuff that really puts me off as a customer. From what I can tell, it does not sound like Mr. Moon is a scammer, but dishonesty in one arena makes me very, very wary.
 
Dishonesty is rarely an isolated trait, existing only in one arena of life. It varies by degrees in all aspects of a persons life. If lying is acceptable in one area, why not in others? Who would be the wiser? Just my take on it though.
 
So we got the knife and honestly disappointed. It doesn't look like the upgraded designer, in fact Will told us he was taking time to fit the parts so we assumed it had inserts. It has zero inserts. The back spacer and clip are anodized and he put chamfers on the clip, that is it. My buddy is not happy and I also really don't want it for $900. But i said I would buy it if he doesn't want it so my buddy is debating on if he wants to keep it or not.

The standard mk7 has inserts but the upgraded designer doesn't? What took so long for it then?

Overall the knife is ok but not great, which is sad and has soured my buddy from purchasing customs in the future.

For myself I ordered an Andre Thorburn L51, no deposit required and already received updates, I didn't ask for one.

I have little patience for people lying and jerking me around because I have to deal with people all day. The last thing I want is someone I pay money to jerking me around.

Haha great work here. The fact that he opened up a second account to defend himself instead of stepping up tells me all I need to know.

Never had any experience with his knives. Checked them out once and I found the base prices, as well as the up charge for different options quite laughable.

Wow I think will moon put his own last nail in the coffin !!! What a shame man I always wanted one of his knives they always look so cool in his videos really nice craftsmanship. I think after this thread he should stay away from knife making for a while and he really decides what to do with his studies and life. All the best and I hope will buddy you make it up for the remaining customers you have they are you only and last hope to make things right!
 
So from what i can gather, there is no doubt that you will eventually get the knife! However be prepared for the long wait, and to be lied to. It also seems that he takes money up front in order to pay for his schooling witch is smart on his end, by not taking out any student loans. Just a guess i can be wrong.

On the other hand this is a good way to piss a lot of people off. If a knife is paid for in full you better be a man of your word and deliver it on time. I also find it strange that 328xi was online yesterday and did not comment on this thread after being called out early in the AM.

Will, I know going to school can be stressful, and having to make knives on the side, I can only imagine!! Also having to deal with constant inquiries can get old. But keep in mind you now have peoples money and you should do all that you can to keep people at ease. I think this saying would apply " The borrower is slave to the lender". You took someones money and now you owe them!
 
He was banned (again). Not only do you wait a long time, but you will probably have issues like lock rock, which he will state is not really an issue. And if you do send it in to fix a problem, expect to wait another year to get it back.

It's funny that he refers to us as asshats, but he falls short over and over and over again to take responsibility and accountability for his own behavior. For that type of ethic, I would gladly never spend a single cent of my money on any of his knives. His demeanor reeks of immaturity, still hasn't changed one bit since the previous time I banned his account the second time around. Keep giving your money to people like this by all means, but don't come here cryin' about how you got burned or haven't heard back. ;) Caveat Emptor as always!
