The Battle Grade is Coming!!!. . . The Battle Grade Is Coming!!!. . . Sneak Peek!

I work on a cargo ship on the great-lakes. There is a marine post office in Detroit, with a mailboat that comes alongside us while in transit under the Ambassador Bridge. No customs, ever

So it's reallly kevlelac, n'est pas? :p

Would just look wrong I think. The ABA III is one of the sexiest Busses IMO ever made. They look stunning in satin. A patina would.....I'd be torn.

not sure that satin SR101 with rust spots would be so sexy...

And that's why I'm torn. No good way to get around the rust spots besides a patina. BIG finish SR101 might rust worse because more surface area, double cut is, well, double cut.

STONEWASH!!!

I plan on keeping my SR101 ASH coated, on account of rust. Were it satin (or when the coating comes off) I'd soak it in vinegar..... Dull gray finish. Did it to my custom shop R3. It was very difficult to keep the satin finish. SR101 is a great steel, nonetheless.

But.....STONEWASH WOULD BE PRIMO!!!!

An easy fix is some type of cool BG marking on the blade...attached to the logo

We have thought this through during the 15 minutes we were sober in the past 6 months, and here are a couple of things that we came up with.

1.) We will be marking the blades with the SR-101 steel designation.

2.) We will be enlarging either the talon hole or the lanyard hole in order to be able to identify a stripped blade where the logo has been removed.

Larger Lanyard hole!

Looking forward to a battle grade the more we talk about it. I'm still going to buy an INFI ASH-1 at some point, I'll just need to provision the funding, they are expensive!

...... thanks Jerry I think both the marking and LANYARD hole changes are good ideas. Most anyone who frequents the Pig Pen would be OK, it is the poor guy that is new to the addiction that would fall victim otherwise !!!And if I am going to file and rack up little lines of INFI to snort I need to know it is pure.... ;) ;) ;) ;)

Swamp Rat knives prices would, probably, be ok for me right now. INFI, not so much..... Can't wait to see the prices...
I do DESIRE a ASH-1....

STONEWASH!!!

Is something wrong with double cut???

Seems like in 2008-2009, DC Busses were what this forum raved about. I'm liking mine.
