My production Stellar was a bit stout too. Try dabbing a little CRK grease in the detent hole. It will lessen the detent slightly as it breaks in. After three months I no longer notice the detent. I still think it has the best ergos of my Shiros because I like a thin/tall handle.

And, on a different Shiro (with a horrible detent), I found that tightening the pivot just a bit made the detent much easier to overcome. Must be something to do with the relationship of the internal parts. The good news is that I’ve come to like this setup and have tightened the pivots on all my NIB Shiros. Much better IMO. The catch is that they no longer “drop shut”. Turns out I like this part too. I no longer slice my primary thumb when closing them carelessly.

Different strokes and all. :)

My Halloween Hati looks a lot more black most of the time, the lighting and the angle of that pic brought all the light tones and silver out. Now that I look at it again with the knife currently in my hand, the pic looks weird lol.

I’ve found a sweet spot on the pivot where it’s not drop shut but a slight shake. Super satisfying. One thing I like on Shiro even if it’s more drop shutty is the flipper tab always catches my thumb before the blade does. Just have to disengage a little higher but that’s the natural placement for me anyway.
 
Mine's been delivered this morning. The only thing I do not dig is the ugly "chaotic satin" around the inlays... argh... I really need to arrange proper stonewash + bronze anno for the scales:

Decided I might like the F3 liner lock more than the F95 frame lock. I might not say no a purple CF Gen 5 F95 if it comes up, but in the meantime I picked up another F3 that will be here Thursday, and would like a purple CF F3...

Nice! I’m curious what I’ll think about the chaotic satin finish being on the front scale. With the Hati’s it’s only on the back side and I don’t mind it too much but it’ll be a lot more apparent on these F95’s, hopefully all the other attributes I wanted in the knife overshadow the strange finish. Other than the thinner blade with a swedge, I’m digging the look of the backspacer and how they gave it a tapered look.

I didn’t realize that the NS still has a 4mm blade, and most all the other new models are 3.5mm. Do I have that right?

They have the F3 Aquatic, Terrus, Ignis, and Aerum as the 4 elements. Recently I posted that I bought second Aquatic as a user, after I couldn't find an F3 in purple carbon fiber nor the F95 with purple carbon fiber. And said that will be here Thursday.

You said you had a 50/50 chance of guessing right, based on what R1 is selling.

I said, "Well, it's not a 3rd Aquatic, and not an official element, but it's a jewel of a knife." Meaning it's certainly not another Aquatic, so you must be on the right track ;)

But then you veered off the cliff, and your guesses are getting colder from the hint I gave you 😂

I'll post pics of it tomorrow... :p
