Interesting… Maybe that better explains why it took more than a day for them to sell out. If they did only have 50 or so available stateside as first reported, I figured those would have been snatched up quickly. If they had twice as many or more, that gives folks a lot more opportunity to buy one. I upgraded my shipping from R1 to overnight this morning because I was worried FedEx might have delivered it while I was out of town the end of this week, so now it should arrive tomorrow afternoon! It’s been a while since I received a new Shiro.

Thanks! Im gonna figurenthat out. Doc has been so kind and explained it a few times.. but my ignorance persists. And yes, im missing the hati and hation from the regular shiro lineup, then onto collecting cds (ouch checkbook)!

Open the URL i.e. link leading to the image, right click on the picture and choose "open image in new tab", copy that URL for the picture in the new tab, go to a forum new message's edit window, and click on the picture icon at the top of the edit window, click on the "link" icon tab inside that insert image window, and paste the URL into the window, then click the insert button.

The last 2 months were surprisingly fruitful — 111 Starship, F95 Zero 2024, orange 111 Gen4 and finally Astrum FP.

Zero update and Astrum release were more or less expectable (although the exact dates of the events were unknown), while the longest Shiro folders took me by surprise. I feel a bit overwhelmed (both financially and mentally).

The orange one served as a forceful distraction from elaborate enjoyment of Zero, and since the delivery of the next distraction is scheduled for Thursday/Friday, I decided to switch back to Zero for a few days.

Usually, if I have a link that will not work, but I right click on the picture and tell it to open the picture in the new tab, then the new link in the new tab does work. I haven’t had it fail yet.
 
First production magnificence. Just received the FP Astrum and it’s amazing, not that I was expecting anything less. I love how the anodizing matches the FP Stellar, I’m a bit obsessive about things like that. It was a wee bit stiff out of the box but it’s in my pocket now and it’s working in nicely. I’ll post some more pics soon.

Shirogorov F3 need advice

Hi, My Shirogorov F3 is very gritty when opens and detent is very weak.I can shake it and blade falls out. Had many Shiros but this never happened. I did disassemble and put everything properly back and still the same. Is it lube or? Bought knife brand new from dealer and this happened after...

Astrum landed today. It is... definitely big. It is JUST on the border of being TOO big. But the amount of blade that is packed into a handle that fits perfectly into my hand is pretty outstanding. I'm curious how everyone is finding the flipping action? I think I have some technique adjustments along with some break-in time to do, but moreso than any flipper i've purchased over the last few years (Save the Kami....) this one is tearing my finger up. Going to give it plenty of time to check the break-in, oil the detent ball, try some different techniques on opening, etc. No need to rush it for the time being.

Shiro always kills the clip game, but the Astrum is an incredible example. Perfect depth, great retention, 0 hotspots, fantastic details, perfect chamfers on every single angle/edge. So many makers/companies under-develop the clip - this might not be the full Mini Quantum active/rotational clip, but DAMN does it just.. work. Very well.
