The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

There was also a F95 Zero for $700. Almost went for this one.

Would it have been a good deal? That bigger size is what I’d want.

Thanks

F95 Zero and F3 would be the same size but I totally understand not wanting the white. $700 is probably pretty fair for an F95 Zero, I think that's a $1000-$1100 knife new.

There are enough Shirogorovs on the secondary market that you could probably wait for something you really like and still not be waiting too long. If I was in the market for an F3 I'd be looking at one of the more recent versions with Alutex scales instead of G10 (just preference, I think they look cool) and if I was shopping for an F95 I'd probably hold out for a Zero or T/Turtle which again is personal preference. The older NLs with micarta inlays were kind of considered a basic/entry level knife with no internal milling and were cheaper because of that. The new ones with carbon fiber inlays do have internal milling and seem to live in the same price range as the Zero and the T models. Honestly it is really hard to go wrong...if you pick an F3, F3NS, or F95 that you like the looks of I think you'll be a happy camper.

I’m back! So a while back (~2021), I had sold a portion of my collection which included all my Shiros with the exception of one which I gave to my father in law. I didn’t really have much regret with any of them exception for one CD. So over the years I’ve been quietly watching the releases and everyone’s post. I was hoping to get a CDX but it seems that’s harder than expected. This isn’t that but I’m just as excited.

Great score on the Midi Q - heard only good things! Surprised to hear the CDX is hard to acquire honestly - Midi Q has seemed very in demand as well. Good news is with runs of 100 total pieces now, it should continue to get easier with time. So hopefully you won't be CDX-less for too long!

Picked up a nearly mint R1 Quantum Ursus for dirt cheap, recently. Definitely more refined than my G-10 Ursus and just as smooth as my F95NL Copper.

Congratulations! I wonder, why the official description of this dealer exclusive says nothing about the captive pivot system... judging by the pivot size you are likely to stumble upon CPS in case you ever need to disassemble your R1P. 🙃

Surprisingly CD Stellar-B (recently announced for CCKS 2025) is also promised to be made in a greater batch of 100 pcs.

P.S. and we may expect another collaboration with Sinkevich revealed very soon (hopefully this Saturday). There might be 2 variations, 100 150 pcs. of each one.

Thanks for the info. So much to learn about these excellent folders and their many variations/configurations.

Wow, Stellar-B in a run over 100 does not seem likely to be massively popular. Stellaris CD already seems very available/cheap on the secondary market compared to most other models..

The Fat Strip is a very odd choice and again I cant imagine it will be trading much over table. Seems like a very polarizing design.

S90V Stellar-B would be the obvious choice over Stellaris in case I had an opportunity to get one of those two for the table price.

Carbo-Ti & Damascus is way too fancy even for occasional carry. With all due respect to Sinkevich, the same goes for the Fat Strip — IMHO it's designed as a purely collectible piece.

I got into this brand because of my #7 folding knife policy I’ve put myself on. Had one spot to fill and this was it.

Nothing says I can’t step up a notch in the mfg’s line and sell this one when the other comes in though…. 🤓

Probably the top 3 in my books for EDC.
Smooth, comfy, great user blade, size, build quality, clip is great as weight is good in the pocket.
