The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

I love this thread. Question though, I am super interested in picking up a Neon Ultra Lite, but cannot find one for the life of me. Have they stopped making them?

Pompous Pompous , I have no idea if the NeOn Ultra Lite has been discontinued, although the only authorized US dealer has all their NeOns listed as Sold Out. They may simply be waiting for a new shipment.

Vladimir_K is a registered dealer here on BF and lists knives on the Exchange in the For Sale by Dealers forum. He is both very trustworthy and quite resourceful. He can often find and supply knives for members looking for something specific, whether discontinued or not. His email is listed at his Profile Page. I bought my F95T from him at a very reasonable price and I know several members here who've transacted very successfully with Vlad.

I've bought all my Shiros, including my NeOn Ultra Lite, here on the Exchange. Just keep checking and one is likely to show up eventually. It won't be mine, though--it's a keeper. ;)

You could also start a thread in the Want to Buy forum. Happy hunting! :)

The Neon Ultra-light comes up on the site for Shiro's authorized dealer. It was in S30V, then Elmax and I believe the last batch was S30V once again. You can receive brand and model specific alerts, although, in spite of them I check regularly...

The Neon Ultra Light might have been in Elmax but as far as I know for past year they have all been S30V at the authorized US dealer. As far as overseas they might be an older batch. I so wish the Shiro COA had a birth date on the production ones, (Full Custom has birth dates, not sure about CD).

Yeah I've been hunting on reddit, the NA dealer, and the exchange and I cannot find one available for the life of me. Found a few Euro sites that had them but the pricing was pretty insane so I was trying to hold off for something more reasonable. Ah well, the hunt continues!

Finally sprang for it after all these time... the iconic Poluchotky...

Congratulations, a_d! I'm generally not the biggest fan of Persian-style knives, but that's just so elegant and refined. Absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, brother! Must have a great feel in hand.

Yea Chazzy. Precisely why I hesitated over the years getting one even though this was the first knife --looking from a pic that started me into collecting.
Its a closure of sort in a way :)
Ok wait-- I still need a Coordinal to really close it but damn the price on those are uuughhhh

This is by far the fastest flipping Shiro I had so fast. It comes with a good nice detent too. Handled a couple other Poluch where the detent were softer. So I'll say mine is pretty spot on for the overall package for the action/ feel.

and it does this too ;)

That's pretty cool, A anvil_den . Unfortunately, I can't snap my fingers anymore, given all the arthritis from a lifetime of carpentry work. Otherwise, I'd "snap" one up myself.

Beautiful knife
ZT 0462 looks exactly like this knife par the cf scale. I hope later this year KAI will release a full ti short run of ZT 0462

Never been much of a fan for persian blade as edc, but I might pick up the 0462 for that now.
On this one, like most collabs, it's all tucked within the little nuances, like the ever so slightly offset pivot and assembling screw at the back... they blend in softly to the chamfers on the handle. Very delicate as any more, it would end up looking like poor design aesthetics or a CNC error :)
As it is now, it kinda reminds me of Salvador Dali's artwork -- the Persistence of Memory ( the one with the melting watch over the side of a table)

I've seen a few Neons on this forum and others over the last few weeks–S30V, Elmax and M390. The Shirogorov website has the Lite for sale at a good price but it seems shipping is only within or near Russia.

Finally got myself a Shiro. Loving it so far, but a touch too big. My hunt for a NeOn continues.

Nice F95T. What's the steel on that baby? Mine is one of my top 2 or 3 knives and is a work and EDC user for me. It's definitely on the larger side, but I tend to lean that way in my preferences.

There are definitely NeOns out there to be had, but for me it was a matter of price-point as I waited for the right knife to come along. I decided not to buy at the high end of retail or from someone who'd overpaid new. In the end, one showed up LNIB on the Exchange right in my sweet spot and I jumped on it. I'm glad I hung in there as I got just the right knife and saved about $250.

My daily carries, the neon hasn't left my pocket since I got it. The thing is damn near perfect . Got it from Vlad, he is awesome to deal with.

You can't go wrong with either Vlad or the NeOn. Two great Russians. :)

Has anyone else notice differences in the knives sold in Russia and the ones sold in the US?

I bought 2 neon lites, one was for my son. I got the top one in the picture from Vlad in Russia. The bottom one from Recon1. You can see in the picture that the finish on the titanium is different. Also, the bottom one sold here is thicker. I didn't mic it, but it is noticeable. It's about 8 grams heavier, I did measure weight. The blade finish was different also, both M390.
Anyone else have the same model knife , one for import here and one for sale in Russia that have differences ?
