Thanks again to this forum for enlightening me on Shirogorov knives. Got my first two last week.

Both 111s. Top knife in M390, bottom in Elmax. They do make a unique thwack when opened.

Those two make a helluva pair, BFS. Got enough cutting edge? You had me confused after your earlier picture of the knife you bought. I had seen that sales thread before and recognized the picture, but later saw Scrim's thread and your "I'll take it". So which one did he buy, I wondered, not both? Yeah both!

If I wanted to sell my 111, I'd know whose door to knock on. No way, though--keepin' mine!

I ended up getting one from Scrim and one from Eyeofpy. Love the size of these knives.

RussianWoodStock posts are really giving me the bug. These Russian knifemakers sure do have some talent.

Two big, bad beauties! Enjoy & thanks again, BFS.

Guys, even customized work made in Russia like this one with Shirogorov Flipper 95 - Nasgul customization with logo of master. Google it and find his works really fine.

Hey guys--you two and anyone else--I'm looking at getting a 95T for a work-user and am soliciting opinions on blade materials and how anyone might rate Shiro's offerings of well-known steels vis-a-vis heat-treat, toughness, sharpenability, etc.

M390 is a favorite, but seems hard to find a 95T in that. S30V is not quite durable enough for that use in my book. I'm wondering particularly about Shiro's S90V and Elmax as those appear to be most readily available for the 95T.

I carried and used (and still have) an elmax f95 and it is great. Wouldn't hesitate to use it. Had a hati in elmax also and it performed better than an s30v hati I had. I had an m390 hati and couldn't discern any difference from the elmax on both edge retention and ease of sharpening. Neither chipped on me but I never abused them.

In short, their elmax is spot on.

Chazzy, Vlad has a new version F95 anodized M390 in stock right now. Its not the T but its pretty cool.

I recently aquired a Shirogorov Neon Lite M390 from Vlad and it might be my favorite new EDC. Its so light, ergonomic, smooth! It's perfect! Im thinking about buying a backup in case I mess the first one up carrying etc... The blade falls closed under its own weight. Its smoother than my CD F95T. But that could be the SRBS vs. MRBS or the pivot might need adjusting. Do not hesitate to buy one!!! They are AWESOME!

I live M390 it's my favorite steel. But I have an Elmax shiro and I think it was the best Elmax blade I ever had. They make a very very nice Elmax
