The Beer Scout Knife

Do all the GECs come with buttons? Neither of mine have had them. Don't really care, just curious.

Wow! After looking at that beautiful Sunbrite, I'm second guessing my limit of two caplifters per category. The Sunbrite and Tortoise Shell were battling it out for my second choice in the Beer Scout category with a flip of the coin deciding the winner. It's tough setting limits like this.

Lately, the SFO runs have been coming with buttons, but not in every tube (I think they drop 'em in until they run out). There have also been regular runs with buttons... the Yelow Rose #63 Mako, for example... not sure if everyone who got a Yellow Rose got a button, though.

Al is right, they drop them in every 7 or so usually, unless dealers asked for them to be added to every order.

Also just wanted to note, the buttons are a fairly recent addition. Maybe in the last year or so? they started doing it. I think it's a cool little touch; I have no use for them but it's become part of the package like the tube and paper to some extent.

Any mention of the Soda Scouts yet? It's killing me seeing the Beer Scouts being delivered and not even seeing a picture of a Soda Scout yet...

I think they're doing all the regular production Beer Scouts first and then all the SFO's which the Soda Scout is grouped into. There are still more cover materials to go on the Beer Scouts.

Bozack, I'd say your Beer Scout Knife Club membership number is: #00001 ;)

5 digits for the BSKC, I like the way you think, Al. Go big or go home!

My sunbrite is going to be here on Monday, darned 4th of July on a Saturday holiday.:D

I just fulfilled my order for the Chestnut Sawcut...added the pint glasses to the order also. I think the Chestnut just screams "traditional". The brown tones with the fancy script on the shield look like it belongs on an old bar top next to some taps and bar rags. Now.....which other one do I want (besides Barry's SFO of course!)

It's a great looking knife, no question about it, Jake. If I didn't have so many coming, I would've gotten that one too! Very impressed with the pictures GEC is showing!

From the pics, it looks like they're about done with the bone ones (non-SFO) and are about to take on the cocobolo ones. No pics of ebony in any form, yet.

Absolutely! In fact, your post has me wondering if any of our UK members could tell me if crown caps are used on bottled beer on their side of the pond. For some reason, I've always imagined their pubs serve beer from taps - but I've never visited to see for myself. (Sounds like a good reason to make the trip!)

Oh yeah! Barry's got the goods alright! Mighty fine indeed my friend!:thumbup:
