The Beer Scout Knife

Do all the GECs come with buttons? Neither of mine have had them. Don't really care, just curious.

No they do not. They have been inserted at random in various runs, but all the "Beer Scout Knife" series seem to have one.

I've had more than my fair share of beer out of crown-capped bottles in the UK :D

Tonight is home movie night with the Missus; I don't have a BS yet but will use a Boy's Radio knife and lift one up to you & your fellow Brits!

Barry, those pics are appreciated. And you are an Enabler! I sure hope to find a button in my BS! :D

:very_drunk:This just in from the 'Department of Redundancy Department':

Wow, I love seeing them all! I ordered several with the intentions to pick out which one I like best and send the rest to happy homes. I think this might be a tough choice to pick a keeper!

Another thing that is great about GEC is that there is no fluctuation in the fit/finish. Everyone I have seen so far has been outstanding.

Barry and Mike - Are the knives you posted are from the same batch of Tortuous Shell acrylic?
They look totally different color wise.

Mike can you give us some details about the shield on the "Soda Scouts"? Will the font be the same as the knives from the 2014 Rendezvous or the same as the "Beer Scouts"?

I think the difference is the lighting.

Yes, it is all the same batch. I expect his shots are in natural light and mine is in a tent.

I requested the "Scout" shield used previously.

It's getting really hard for me to not pull the trigger and order up a sunbrite.. hmmm... or should I wait and get a look at the SFOs.. Decisions, Decisions...

Man, I'm lovin' this knife! Works just as well opening paint cans as beer bottles. It's perfect on my workbench fellas!!! :D

Love the photos barry, but as a collector of antique tools, can i just say that paint and good tools (or knives) should be kept at the opposite ends of the workshop!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt a bit uneasy about that photo. :)

Great photos from both Barry and Mike.

A little paint gives tools a nice character! Just look at that Universal table knife/paint stirrer. It took me 30 years to get it to look like that! ;)

The truth is, back in the day my paint bench tools and the bench itself took on the same colorful look. (Come to think of it, so did my jeans! lol) The trouble was, I'd spend too much time tryin' to find 'em there! They would literally disappear. That was some good camouflage. lol
