Glad I put my reservation in today. I always wondered why I didn't know about these SFO's until they were in people's hands and sold out. I'm glad I finally did my research!

I just did the same, getting the "Scout" version for my Grandpa since he doesn't drink beer or any sort of alcohol. I think he will really appreciate the EO notch as he is getting older and probably use the screwdriver bit more than the bottle opener.

Is this Clint? Can't wait till the photos of yours drop on IG. The Micarta is bound to be fantastic. Been waiting patiently.

I am not usually one to buy multiple of a single knife, but I am seriously considering the Micarta. If it had the beer scout shield I would be sold.
 
There's definitely a wide range of opinions. I thought the "BS" etch was extremely poor taste... like ridiculously bad. If I decide to keep my "beer scout", I will polish the etch off. I don''t like the long shield either. I think GEC went a little crazy with these knives. Mike is my hero for doing the "soda scout" SFO with normal scout shields and no etch.

There will also be two other SFOs without the long shields and etch. I look forward to seeing those as well.

The Natural micarta IS Currently available for pre order, BUT it is listed as the Soda Scout on collectorsknives pre order.

It doesn't say Beer Scout Knife on the shield, only Scout. So our brother with the "Southern baptist wife" Should be ok with it, since it doesnt say "Beer" on it.

But Hurry, they are running Really low on available spots!!!

Hahaha! Yup! That's me. I've been a member here for a long time, but I'm more of a lurker here.

I didn't want to take over the thread with my comments, but to thewheel82. That's awesome! I was very lucky this go around. I bought the last saw cut bone from Howe's this morning...like 5am. He gave me a tracking number within an hour. So, I'm going to have two as well. I've contemplated giving my dad one as well, but I'm already waiting on the customized small sebenza I ordered him after my grandma/his mom died. That may send him into knife overload...LOL.
